4 days is completely changing the makeup of the competition and won't happen after 9 seasons. Weather doesn't do that, no matter how much you wanna try and twist it.
Live captaincy would be a very good thing to add to Cricsim. Quite how it'd work, I have NFI, but it could make being a captain more of an honour and much more important if that was the route you were going down. Only issue is what if said captain can't be online or something?
Rain doesn't always shorten games, but it can change the way things go down with wet pitch and outfield.
I have to say I agree with Boob on this one, I don't see the neccessity to change the format of BS, keep it as 5 days IMO.
No, weather possibly changes the entire makeup of the competition and won't happen after 9 seasons. With 4 days everybody can account for it, it's a level playing field and the team that plays the better cricket with the correct strategy should have the best chance of winning. With the weather, the best side could have every single one of their games weather effected and not win a single game because of it. Sounds exciting
3 named captains and if they aren't online during the time of a match then Cribb does it for them. It makes it hard with so many pommy ****ers.
How would you know they're the best side if they don't play a full game all season? And it wouldn't be like England. Just because there is weather, doesn't mean it would come into play every game. You could go 8 rounds without one game copping rain.
They could be in a position to win each game but have it wrenched away from them by weather? Gamblers vs Rays, Rays need 310 to win with 2 wickets remaining. 2 and a half sessions left. RAIN. RAIN. RAIN. RAIN. Rinse and repeat. You finish midtable when you could've won 80% of your games had it not rained. Or you could go 8 rounds without one game not copping rain. Both are very unlikely but that they're both possible.
I'm thinking from memory here because I don't have a copy of ITC on my laptop, but yeah ball "wetness" isn't an issue IIRC.
Then in that situation I'm in a shitty mood because of the rain.....Hmmm...I guess we should re-think the whole weather thing because I don't think there has ever been a cricket team ****ed over by rain.
The best team should always have the opportunity to win. This isn't real life so there's no point ****ing about with people's enjoyment just to introduce luck.
