Plenty including most of the ones I avoid commenting on in here...

I see Inglis as being a more physically gifted player than Hayne tbh.

I'd rather he stayed, however I look forward to seeing how he fares and hope he succeeds.

Everyone's wasting their time discussing this. Hayne won't make it in the NFL. He'll be back in Parra by 2016.

Hayne's easily the more athletically gifted of the two but GI is more physically imposing.

  5. Harry Sack SB Slippy

He would have to be behind a fuckton of younger guys, with similar physical attributes/skills who've most likely played the game for most of their lives. Can't see him making it.

This isn't even a real thing. Jarryd Hayne would be a stud athlete in the NFL just as much as he is in the NRL. The only thing that is going to keep him from getting a gig is the fact he has no idea how to play...

How can your dream be to play in the NFL? What an awful, awful sport. He's just like those kids who wear nba singlets/caps everywhere and try to act cool because that's the pinnacle of cool in the media. The Jews control his brain.

I came in here looking for
    a) some speculation on whether he would be successful - and thanks it sounds like a resounding no.
    b) speculation on why on earth he is doing this - didn't read any theories. If you forced me to get inside his head he wants to get the maximum fame possible and just figures the NFL is the biggest sport in the world for glamour.

Such a shame - If he wanted a challenge, he should have just been loaned to Rugby for a season, so we can win the World Cup (probs chuck Inglis in there as well, just to make sure of it).

My first thought was that he was just trying to get out of his eels contract. Even if he's contractually obligated to play for them when he returns, it doesn't mean they'll be able to fit him under the cap.

Kind of what I was getting at with the bold in my quote. He ticks all of the boxes (apparently) to make it except the knowledge of how to play the game. Which the guys who would be vying for the same position already possess.

I think the opposite. He actually wants to shun the fame of being a sports star.....and which he should successfully do, by moving to the states and becoming a small fish in a big pond.

He will get huge coverage here.

Agree Harry ......I know fuck all about "gridiron", but enough to say, it looks a complicated game. It's one thing for a league player to convert to union (though a large percentage fail due to the game's particular "subtleties") or even AFL.....but the NFL?

    Seems a huge leap.

I think after the dust settles ......Jaryd who?

  18. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    lolwut?

    though a large percentage fail

that bit...yeah? Lol....I was thinking of forward converts? Not outside backs. They say it's harder for forwards to convert to union? I'm not up on union much either ....

  20. Pretzel P Retzel

Not sure I can think of a forward convert at all.
