    Refs can't be expected to rule on the the risk of danger given their limited viewing of an incident and time frame they're expected to make a decision. A dog shot is a dog shot, that's all they need to rule on.

    It's either a sin bin or it's not. I'm fine with the latter, the match review committee is there to deal with the rest.

    I'd much rather see things that can have a direct effect on the outcome of a game (like Cronk's holding down of Maloney) get a sin binning than a fight.

    Not surprising coming from the guy who thought Jennings' king hit was okay.

    lol at "maliciously" push someone. He pushed him because Gallen hit him in the head with a swinging arm. By your standards that's a justification for Myles to get up and smash him in the face before he even shaped up. Don't tell me for one second that you would've been cool with it.

    I'm gonna go push the biggest bloke I can find in the Cross on Saturday night and then when he belts me I'll tell the cops it was unprovoked.

    Instead of throwing a punch he pushed like a bitch and Gallen belted him like the man he is.

    I love how when it comes to Origin that everyone becomes that lippy cunt down at the pub who won't hear a word against their side and will change their opinion to suit their team's best interests every 5 seconds.

    Nah you don't just get up and start nailing someone, you give them the courtesy push, but you always hit first.

    After he's been pushed, nothing wrong with Gallen punching and I would say the same if the situation was reversed.

    Heard it reported that he'll miss one game (next weekend?) due to taking the early guilty plea...

    Had to love Gallens justification to the Ref though. Was pissing myself.

    Yeh Gallen has officially taken the early guilty plea.

    If you want to look at it that way then you might as well re-examine the entire RL rulebook because you'll find dozens of equally inconsistent punishments relative to the crime. For example, you get the same penalty for a high tackle as for being offside from a line drop-out, even though the former clearly has far more serious consequences for the players involved.

    The comparison of the 10 for a professional foul and foul play is fatuous because you are comparing two completely separate rules aimed at addressing remarkably different components of the game. Comparing Cronk and Gallen doesn't say anything at all about the validity of the call or the quality of the refereeing imo. All is doing is pointing out that rugby league as a sport provides tacit approval for fighting with the way it sets out of the rules, which should hardly be news to anyone.

    The VR had ages to rule on it. The character and nature of the offence was evident.

    Again, you're equating the incidents by saying if they're all dogshots, then they all deserve 10. Give us a break. Go and get king hit in the head and see if you still think it's even remotely comparable to a short jab to the side of the head.

    This is beyond ridiculous. You want players binned for a professional foul but not for king hits. FMD.

    Yeah this is it. You don't push someone unless you're looking for a blew.

    Make sure he smashes you in the face with a swinging arm first.

    Considering the effect of Gallens punches, perhaps Nate thought a push was all that was needed. You're right though, Nate should have bitch slapped him at the least. A slap from the mighty hand of Nate is a dangerous thing though.

    Loved how Myles was wearing some big arse sunnies today to cover up his solid black eye.

    Oh I see so if you get pushed you're entitled to throw but if you get a swinging arm to the face you owe a courtesy push?

    Fucking lol.

    So every push in the ruck is someone looking for a blue? lol, fuck you're a laugh when it comes to Blues players and foul play. You want to talk about what happens on the street? Since when the fuck is a jab to the side of the head equivalent to a king hit to someone who doesn't know it's coming? That's what you argued this time last year.

    Yeh because a professional foul has the potential to affect the outcome of a game, NSW had QLD shot to the right after Maloney's break and could've easily scored a try. Only getting a penalty for that is a major disadvantage, there was no disadvantage to QLD for Myles getting punched in the head.

    I'm happy with Gallen staying on the field with the real punishment coming from the match review committee & judiciary.

    My stance is;

    sin bin = professional fouls
    suspensions = foul play

    Gallen has mighty fists but I doubt even they are great enough to give someone a black eye from two punches to the jaw.

    Bullshit .......high tackle gets put on report and the offender risks suspension.

    How many players can suspended for being offside?
