The March Begins Now With only a few hours before the start of a new Cricsim season a new force is rising. Gossip and popular opinion in the past would have told you that this side was on its deathbed. And nothing would change that fact. That ends now. Today marks the new era, the Second Crusade to a Bannerman Shield title. This season will be tough. There have been no illusions to that fact. There are much better sides in the competition. But there is no point being fearful, Who Dares Wins. And in season 11 the Crusaders will be daring. A new bowling attack, following the departure of JU Rocker and JP Wilkinson to the Gamblers sees an injection of youth, with JH Ridd and DA Crowley replacing them. The return of legendary SB Wilson and the new blood to the Bannerman Shield in JJ Ritchie provides a dual spin attack with experience and spark. Of course many would consider a four pure bowler approach something akin to suicide. But it’s an approach that looks to force results and put sides under pressure. Which after a Cup run to the final, beating the great batting depth of the Gamblers and Allstars. Shows there may be some merit to the idea. The batting on the other hand remained relatively unscathed, BL Hornby being the only major departure. That means a batting order that showed great things in a very poor overall season 10 gets to continue in that vein. S Bakkum, E Ames and club captain M Perry provide the match winning performances. While keeper BI Immanuel, returning clubman P Retzel, TJ Clough and V Noir are all capable and First Class in their own right. Of course there is also fragility, depth is a problem and remaining injury free and good form will be important to any success had.
