Team History
The Cricsim Vipers were founded halfway through Season 3 after they beat several other teams applications to debut in the Season 4 competition. RyanG was the club founder. The Vipers recruited well in the early stages of their admittance as they managed to snatch the contracts of C Man, DK Erschoff and JT Whicker from other interested parties. The jubilation of the Vipers signings was cut short when key bowler JT Whicker was banned from Cricsim. In a bid to bolster the side, the club signed promising young batsmen Jan Itor who later turned out to be an alter ego of JT Whicker.

The Vipers played their debut match against the SWXI at the VCG and despite going into the match as strong underdogs they managed to not only play competitively, but actually come out with a victory by 361 runs. The promising young team of hopefulls continued their solid start to the season with a win over premiership favourites, the Allstars, in Round 2. However they were soon brought crashing back to earth, going winless for 13 straight rounds. The team's achilles heal became obvious to opposition, the Vipers poor bowling performances had hurt the team deeply. They were no chance of making the finals and all spirit within the club seemed to have faded away when during a Round 15 clash the likes of C Man and HJ Bots dominated the bowling, giving the Vipers a victory over the Cyclones (their first victory since Round 2).

Despite the win the damage to team moral was substantial and the club was thrust into controversy when team mates began arguing with each other. The club sufferred even more when a mid-season walk-out saw the club lose the likes of C Man, DK Erschoff, L Lover, SJ Nova, J Ono, RA Boy and A Bannerman. Those losses were compounded when JT Whicker was released from the club due to an on-going fued between himself and club founder RyanG. The Vipers moral was at an all-time low and despite beating the Crusaders in Round 19, they finished the season with the Wooden Spoon. That was the least of their problems though as the club's immediate future was in doubt as they were struggling to sign anyone for Season 5. In a desperate bid to keep the club alive ,to a certain degree, and after being approached by Cricsim Owner Robert Cribb and Redbacks Founder E Volavola it was decided that the Cricsim Vipers would merge with the Redbacks. This news brought about an immediate backlash from the Cricsim community due to the hatred towards the Redbacks and their founder. An administrative vote was carried out on the proposal with results showing that the merger would not go ahead. The Vipers were back to square one.

With a small number of original members remaining at the club the Vipers were forced to sign up a bunch of rookies for the up-coming season. The club managed to scrape a team together using the likes of core members M Perry, R Gee, AJ O'Driscoll and HJ Bots as a base to construct the new team around. Some club individuals were rewarded for their performances during the season as M Perry, R Gee and AJ O'Driscoll were all picked to play for QLD in the State of Origin series. They played with mixed performances and were unlucky to lose the series 3-0 to NSW. With the Season 4 done and dusted the Vipers could now focus on a fresh start. Pre-season signings/trading saw the Vipers sign HD Roberts from the Crusaders before they traded J Read to the very same club for N Hunt.

The team was coming together nicely despite the lack of big name bowlers and they were rewarded for their efforts in a pre-season knockout competition in which they tied for 3rd place after ousting the Cyclones in Round 1 of the 3-round knockout competition.
