Team History
Establishment

The Pumas were brought into the Bannerman Shield for season 5, after a successful application to join was accepted late in season 4. SA Flack was the president of the new club, and quickly set signing players to get the club up and running. You'll find information on each season below.

Long Standing Members:

SA Flack
RA Boy
L Lover
J Ono
JP Wilkinson
NG Miokovic
BG Herd

Season 5:

Season 5 was the first for the Pumas having been accepted into the Bannerman Shield late in season 4. They'd had to work quick to put together a team who could compete at a high level, and they managed to put a team on the park in round 1 that could win, when they beat the Ravens by 8 wickets in their first ever Bannerman Shield match. The first ever Pumas lineup was:

1. RA Boy
2. GI Joe
3. SA Flack
4. ZA Berkuta
5. SJ Nova
6. L Lover
7. J Ono
8. BL Hornby
9. BC Jacobs
10. RJ Centin
11. DA Crowley

It was a tough first season for the Pumas, as they found their feat in the competition but they managed to come 6th out of the 7 competing teams that season, and were looking to build off it for season 6.

Season 6:

Season 6 was another tough one for the Pumas. Season 5 HoR, BC Jacobs, had formed his own club, The Lions, and they struggled to bring in big names still, even though they'd brought in one of the best in BJ Gemmell. However they brought in BG Herd and NG Miokovic. JP Wilkinson also made his way into playing BS regularly. All 3 players would be long serving members and good pickups in seasons to come in BS and ALC. The first lineup for the season was:

1. NG Miokovic
2. KBL Tierney
3. J Ono
4. BJ Gemmell
5. ZA Berkuta
6. SA Flack
7. RA Boy
8. L Lover
9. RJ Centin
10. JP Wilkinson
11. DP Miggiani

The Pumas managed to move up to 5th out of the 7 competing clubs, but were still somewhat disappointed. BJ Gemmell failed to deliver for them, as they'd hoped, and the finals were still a long way away.

Season 7:

Season 7 was possibly the toughest season for the Pumas since their entrance. They had what seemed like a good core group of players, but the Lions had taken a few players in the previous two seasons that made it tough. They still had good up and coming players and a couple of good senior players. BG Herd played regularly in firsts, but failed to really deliver some of the skills he'd displayed in the ALC competition previously. The first lineup of the season was:

1. NG Miokovic
2. A Johnson
3. JP Thornton
4. BG Herd
5. SA Flack
6. BL Hornby
7. RA Boy
8. CW Jennings
9. RJ Centin
10. M Kaye
11. JP Wilkinson

They got off to the right start with a 33 run victory over their rivals the Ravens. However this was one of their few victories in the season and they finished with the least points they'd managed in any season so far finishing 6th out of the 7 competing teams once again.

Season 8:

Season 8 showed a lot of promise very early on for the Pumas. They'd signed several senior players as well as bringing through a few more quality juniors to make their strongest lineup yet. DR Armstrong, KD Jones and B Olsen had joined after the Allstars had decided to fold their team, and were expected to push the club forward. SLO Graham also moved into the BS lineup regularly as first choice keeper and PF Oz had been showing good signs as an up and coming spin bowler. Their first lineup for the season was:

1. DR Armstrong
2. NG Miokovic
3. KD Jones
4. B Olsen
5. BG Herd
6. SA Flack
7. SLO Graham
8. L Lover
9. CW Jennings
10. JP Wilkinson
11. PF Oz

The Ravens beat them by 7 wickets in round 1, but the Pumas managed to have a good season finishing 4th out of the 8 competing teams, just 1 spot shy of the finals. L Lover had a great season as he opened the bowling, finally showing the form the Pumas had hoped he would.

Season 9:

Season 9 was the Pumas best season to date. They had lost DR Armstrong, but gained MSM Monkeywrench to take his place. They also brought in former player and Season 8 player of the season, TA Miokovic who was joined by one of the best fast bowlers in the business, C Man. AD Hunt had also returned much stronger and would also take on the CoS role mid season. The Pumas were thought of as favourites for the title by many along with the Vipers. Their first round lineup was:

1. NG Miokovic
2. MSM Monkeywrench
3. KD Jones
4. TA Miokovic
5. B Olsen
6. SA Flack
7. SLO Graham
8. L Lover
9. C Man
10. AD Hunt
11. JP Wilkinson

The Pumas were slow starting, losing to the Sticky Wickets in round 1. However they managed some wins in the first half of the season, and then really took off in the second half finishing second and qualifying for the semi-final. SA Flack had one of his best seasons with bat and ball, along with SLO Graham having one of his best season with the bat, challenging as one of the best keepers in the game. TA Miokovic had a brief period in the ALC team before coming back to finish extremely his season in BS very strongly. C Man, AD Hunt, JP Wilkinson and AJ Izett also showed amazing form with the ball, leading the Pumas to have the best bowling figures of any club for Season 9. Their semi-final lineup to take on the Sticky Wickets was:

1. NG Miokovic
2. MSM Monkeywrench
3. KD Jones
4. SA Flack
5. TA Miokovic
6. B Olsen
7. SLO Graham
8. C Man
9. AJ Izett
10. AD Hunt
11. JP Wilkinson

They managed to win by 70 runs to qualify for the Grand Final, where they would take on the Vipers. KD Jones was injured however and would need to be replace for the Grand Final, leaving the Pumas needing to rely on one of their ALC players. Their GF Lineup was:

1. NG Miokovic
2. MSM Monkeywrench
3. BG Herd
4. SA Flack
5. TA Miokovic
6. B Olsen
7. SLO Graham
8. C Man
9. AJ Izett
10. AD Hunt
11. JP Wilkinson

Despite BG Herd's amazing 215 runs for the match, the Pumas lost by 159 runs. Key players ha failed to really stand up, especially SA Flack who would later announce that AJ Son would be joining the team and taking on the presidency role from season 10 onwards.
