Still in Hetmyer's primary positions. Surprised me too but he actually opened a shitload when he first came into FC cricket. Only really stopped when he got called up to Tests and he's not really played much domestic stuff since then.

Oh wow. Yeah that changes things. Probably would just be "best available" then for R18.

Your bowling depth is utterly awful. You need to trade Cheema for Sodhi or something and go full dustbowl. Whatever idea you had for a pace attack hasn't worked.

Given who the other guy I was leaning towards for my most recent pick was, this is.....not reassuring.

i have an idea for your pace attack. jackson bird.

im in the market for an allrounder. jadeja looks good.

  6. morgieb MC Burridge

    lol, nah.

I probably would be interested in Bird but don't think any of the AR's would fit.

  7. Phlegm SP Phlegm

bird would give your attack some bite and you have a lot of spin bowling allrounders to take jadejas place, or you could just bat deep.

I don't want Tim Paine or Darren Stevens batting 6. I don't want Behardien or Shah as my 5th bowler. Jadeja is close to the best cricketer in the world by this standard, you're gonna have do a lot better than Bird to even think of shaking him loose.

bird and kusal mendis (wk) for jadeja and rahmat shah

  10. Phlegm SP Phlegm

that gives you a full time keeper who can open the batting as a specialist (or #3 where i and sri lanka have him)

    I admire your ambition flem.

you dont know if you dont ask. i think it's a reasonable trade. rahmat shah isn't going to be up to much and i provide him with both a good bowler and a #6 keeper batsman who will stop athlai reminding him every day that he picked tim paine.

    im basically a saint.

Just ftr on Mendis, my answer to Flem when he asked me about him a while ago:

    Jadeja/Paine at 6/7 > Hetmyer/Stevens

Mendis an upgrade on my current #3 situation but it's not enough to swing it, and I don't think he's ever batted lower middle order.

And I think having a strong potential spinning attack is a huge competitive advantage. Having Mehidy and Rashid would be one of the weakest spin attacks in the competition, whereas even adding Bird to Afridi + Lakmal wouldn't make my pace attack that dominant. Like it'd be good but even then I'd think there'd be better.

It'd be one thing if my opening quicks were poor, but they really aren't.

mendis isn't going to start averaging 25 just because he's batting lower than normal.

i thoroughly disagree on the quality of your attack. shaheen is ok, jarvis was at his peak in about 2011 and the other two are popgun.

  17. Baxter MJ Deane

Yeah, so he's probably not keen to give up his best bowler who can also bat in the top 6.

jadeja being your best bowler is ok.

    at home.

he's going to be greeted by the auckland motorway or my lawn everywhere else.

Flem give me Bird for Hildreth
