  1. Mariner CL Warrington

    Weaver 3-6 0*-0 Deane
And we have even more breaks, three more in a row to end the first set. Chris Warrington and Bruce Force are getting their campaign off to a positive start, having took their first set 6-2. Still no breakthrough for Chowdhuri in his second set, they're at 4-3 now.

    Getting raped by Ritwick

This schedule looks tough for me. On court 9 match #3 and court 3 match #4. I hope I've got my cardio workout done this week.

  4. Mariner CL Warrington

    Weaver 3-6 1*-1 Deane
Weaver takes his first game with ease, but Deane is pegged back to deuces before he can rescue any threat of being broken early on in this set. Number one seed Welker is having a very slow game against Supple Dong on court 3, but they're still even. Now at five games all, apparently that one could still go either way in the late stages of the set.

  5. Mariner CL Warrington

    Weaver 3-6 1*-3 Deane
Marcuss breaks Weaver for the fifth time in the match, and if that wasn't bad enough follows it up with a love service game. The Kiwi looks done here. Ryabovol is now a set up, and it's 1-1 in the second. Dong is under pressure now, it's 6-5 to Welker and they were in their sixth deuce moments ago. More news from there when we get it.

  6. Mariner CL Warrington

    Weaver 3-6 3-6 Deane
Well the rest of this match hasn't exactly been exciting, four games of low key service holds were ended in the last game of the match. Weaver led 40-15, but there were calls of him throwing it away when Deane came back to deuce. Naturally, it wasn't one of the local Canadians. Anyway, it looked like Weaver had lost all hope when this happened, and quickly enough it was game, set and match for Deane. So with that, it's time to join our second match of the day over on court #6, where Wes Welker has taken the first set.

    Welker 6-4 2-3* Dong
Yes, Welker did take the first set at his last opportunity, though his lead may be short lived as his opponent has just broken to challenge the world number one.

My loss looking better now :p

  8. Mariner CL Warrington

    Welker 6-4 3*-3 Dong
But Welker has broken back immediately! Two great crosscourt winners from the Australian have just thrown Dong's advantage straight out of the window. A couple more results coming in, despite very large wins in the first set, both Ritwick Chowdhuri and the Warrington/Force pair have required tiebreakers to take the match. Jonny Ridd is just getting underway against Rob Cribb on the main court, and Reagan Wheelson is just warming up with opponent Oscar Wood, we'll be going there after this match finishes. So a confirmation of results so far:
Gareth Weaver def by Marcuss Deane 3-6, 3-6
    C. Warrington & B. Force def A. O'Driscoll & B. Hall 6-2, 7-6 (7-3)
Ritwik Chowdhuri def Henry Daman 6-0, 7-6 (7-4)

  9. Mariner CL Warrington

    Welker 6-4 4-3* Dong
Entertaining stuff this, Dong takes Welker to a deuce, but the New South Welshman gets out unscathed. Ryabovol/Logan match is now going to a tiebreak in the second.

  10. Mariner CL Warrington

    Welker 6-4 5-4* Dong
A love service game for Welker, but Dong's sticking some into the net now, cause for concern there. Jordan Logan takes his match to a third set against Ryabovol.

    Welker 6-4 6-6 (0*-0) Dong
Tiebreaks, tiebreaks everywhere. Welker to start.

  11. hen da man HRT Daman

Well at least I put up a fight in the second... Really need to fix these slow starts though, think that is the second match in a row where I have lost the first 6-0.

  12. Mariner CL Warrington

    Welker 6-4 6-6 (1-0*) Dong
Welker gets off the board with a nice winner off the backhand.

    Welker 6-4 6-6 (2-0*) Dong
A point off serve for Welker already, second serve from Dong is pelted back at him, Dong returns, a nice backhand from Welker lets Dong bring out the drop shot. Welker comes to the net and volleys and it's too good for Dong.

    Welker 6-4 6-6 (3-2*) Dong
A point back for Dong on serve, then points are split on Welker's. Welker still in the driving seat though. Jordan Logan's been broken twice already and is 3 love down in the third. Nothing separates Ridd and Cribb at the moment.

  13. Youngman JE Harding

Really gotta lift your game, letting the vics down

  14. Mariner CL Warrington

    Welker 6-4 6-6 (6-3*) Dong
Welker takes both points on serve with ease to give himself a match point or three.

    Welker 6-4 6-6 (7-3) Dong
And Welker takes it. Nice stuff from him there. Time to join Wood and Wheelson on Court #2, where they've just got underway.

    Wood 0-1* Wheelson
We're just getting underway, Wheelson has just broken Wood in the first game, who has no points so far.

  15. hen da man HRT Daman

At least I haven't let us down in the Davis Cup yet haha

  16. Mariner CL Warrington

    Wood 0*-4 Wheelson
A love service game from Wheelson leaves Wood with just three points so far in the match. Very disappointing from the Englishman so far, this was billed as one of the better matches of the day. Os du Toit leads Matt James by a set and a break, and Ivan Ryabovol is on three match points on the other smaller court.

    Wood 0-5* Wheelson
Wood comes the closest that he has to winning a game so far, but he just can't get the advantage in either of the three deuces he gets. Close, but no cigar.

  17. morgieb MC Burridge

Ouch. Wood's a good player too.

  18. Mariner CL Warrington

    Wood 0-6 0*-0 Wheelson
A love service game for wheelson rounds off an appalling set for Wood. Ryabovol comes through against Logan, winning 4-6, 7-6 (7-3), 2-6.

    Wood 0-6 1-0* Wheelson
Wood gets his first game of the match, limiting Wheelson to only one point, where Wood couldn't quite deal with a serve return. Jonny Ridd is a set up against Rob Cribb.

  19. Mariner CL Warrington

    Wood 0-6 3*-1 Wheelson
Wood broke immediately at the first chance he got, then the two hold serve. Much better tennis being played now. du Toit emerges victorious from his match against Matt James, Ritchie and Ether Starris are next up over there.

    Wood 0-6 5*-3 Wheelson
The set has reached a slight impasse now, with Wood having the upper hand but neither player able to do much in the way of sizable gains. So it's Wood to serve for the set.

  20. Mariner CL Warrington

    Wood 0-6 6-3 0*-0 Wheelson
So Wood to serve for the set, and the first is out. The second is good though, and it's onto Wheelsson's backhand side. Wood makes a backhand, then changes it up with one down the line onto the forehand side which Wheelsson can't get to. Wheelson gets a point, then sticks one into the net for a 30-15 deficit. Another poor serve from Wood, then a few slices from either side sees wood put a pit of pace on the ball with his backhand which flies past the outside edge of the Queenslander's racket. A winner, and now set point. Wood serves, good this time, but a poor return from Wheelson allows Wood to smash it and Wheelson guesses the wrong way andof course completely make a fool of himself. One set all now.
