That was a convincing win against Heefa.

Hey Lukic, the time of serving samosas is over man! I'll make a curry of your weak serves now.

Ritwick Chowdhuri's superb run has ended, losing in straight sets to Luka Popovic. The hype before the match was certainly not lived up to, as Popovic came onto the court and won the first four games and conceding only three points in that time. As the match wore on however, it only got a little better. The Asian won more points as he got used to the style of his opponent, but he still couldn't quite contend with him. Knowing that Popovic's serving was his weak point, he worked to attack the serve, but this didn't really work. Chowdhuri actually had more success on his own serve, getting a couple of aces in. Also into the last four is first seed Wes Welker, who took out eighth seed Reagan Wheelson. Wheelson didn't really provide much of a fight apart from the second set, where he battled from a break down with a flurry of winners. Welker had a slight blip in that set too, really racking up the errors. Apart from that, Welker dominated the match, and Wheelson never really got a look in after consistently getting broken early on in the set. Ivan Ryabovol made sure that Queensland had someone in the semis by beating up and comer Jonny Ridd, but Rob Cribb ensured there'll be a three to one ratio in favour of NSW. They'll be good come Davis Cup time.

    Wes Welker def Reagan Wheelson 6-1, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3
    Rob Cribb def Os du Toit 6-0, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2, 6-3
Luka Popovic def Ritwik Chowdhuri 6-1, 6-2, 6-3
    Ivan Ryabovol def Jonny Ridd 6-1, 6-4, 6-7 (5-7), 6-4

That reminds me about the Davis Cup, hopefully it'll be getting started after week 3. I'll stick up a thread explaining prov stuff later.
