The Unofficial Catfish Cricket Club Manifesto

I'd like to thank everyone for their initial interest up to this point and hope that your enthusiasm and hope continues throughout what may be a long and drawn out process on the road to a place in the Bannerman Shield. Until such time as we are granted our own subforum, all news and progress of the Catfish Cricket Club and it's affiliated sporting entities (Mullets) shall be posted here.


Although conflicting with the current expansion plan, we'd like to think that over the coming weeks we can put forward a compelling case and strong enough business plan to sway the powers that be into realising that the Catfish Cricket Club is a positive way forward for cricsim.com's leading competitions.


The clubs goal is simple, to be a well respected force on and off the field that is not only looking out for the good of itself, but also the good of cricsim. Catfish Cricket Club is a brand that will look to represent the many demographics of cricsim by offering something for every personality type and player role that at the same time looks to keep direness to minimum. A kind of 'cricsim Utopia'.

Catfish Cricket Club will not only look to develop members as better players, but as better people. Which is something I think we can all agree is good for the site as a whole.

Once we get a feel for where the bid is headed, we shall proceed with Colours/stadium names and a bigger recruitment drive.

Good to see 3 of the pillars of the Lions bid showing interest. There is no reason why the clubs can't co-exist, however we at the CCC would welcome your expertise and experience with open arms and should we get the go ahead first.

We would encourage you to still pursue the idea of Lions Cricket Club in the future should you see fit and invite you to use the Catfish business model.

Without giving too much away, we'd like to think that the brand will have star pulling power. Whilst we'll be looking for a formidable line up, we certainly won't be wanting to deplete existing teams too much.

One initiative that the Catfish Cricket Club will be looking to undertake once given BS status is too always have a player in our first 11 for the season opener that has played less than 10 BS matches. We'd liked to be known as the club that is prepared to give the 'little guy' or 'underdog' a chance to prove him or herself.

As for big signings and the rumour mill a man in your position should no what rumours are like in this place. Whilst we certainly have our targets, we are long way from talking contracts.
