Seems like the great performance against the Tigers just carried through to the next game as the Sabres came packing a mean punch. Took over as early as the first quarter leaving the Hurricanes stunned. Despite a dismal third quarter, the Sabres managed to hang on and grab another narrow win. The ball movement wasn't as solid this game but the Hurricanes allowed them too many second chances. Impressive rebound numbers against a team boasting players like Ames and Himann who don't shy away from contact on the boards.

    Sabres MVP:

    3 - Rob Cribb
    2 - Marquis Deen
    1 - Tom Delonge

Rob Cribb - Becoming a dub-dub machine and in good time for the Sabres. There's still a lot left to be desire in terms of his shooting but his court vision is phenomenal. Often times, fights hard on the boards too despite his size and this was no exception. Also did well defended star gaurd Steven Cambridge. Great performance.

Marquis Deen - Not the greatest shooting night and you'd usually see him accumulating a higher number of assists but 5 offensive rebounds is no joke. That's one short of what the whole Hurricanes team managed to get. Fought hard and was 2 rebounds away from a deserved dub-dub.

Tom Delonge - It's never fun to crash the boards next to someone like Himann but Delonge stood strong and ended the game with an impressive 12 boards. He wasn't wasteful with the ball in his hands. However, Himann didn't exactly have a tough game on the offensive end.

    Cumulative:

    Marquis Deen - 23
    Rob Cribb - 20
    Clayton Evans - 12
    Joshua Ritchie - 6
    Paul Tazewell - 4
    Tom Delonge - 4
    Allan Izett - 2
    Bill Kirk - 1

Thought a bit about it and came to the conclusion that you did. I specified on the instructions that you are following Morgan around everywhere. He is in form, Bakkum is not. You're the better defender. You kept him to 47% while also being productive on the offensive end. It was close though, Mousey thought so too :p

If any team was going to end this dream Sabres run, it was the Hammerheads. And they did. Sabres didn't go down without a fight however. The Deen vs Wheelson was the key battle and Wheelson managed to come out on top and that influenced the result significantly. Joshua Ritchie's meagre contributions were finally not adequately compensated for.

    Sabres MVP:

    3 - Clayton Evans
    2 - Rob Cribb
    1 - Marquis Deen

Clayton Evans - Riddy was a no show. Evans managed to keep the 'Heads guard to just 31% while making a significant contribution in the offensive end. Unfortunately it wasn't enough. 25 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds capped off an excellent display by the Sabres gaurd.

Rob Cribb - There were worries how Cribb would fare guarding a much bigger and more athletic Alistair Son but Cribb just about stood up. Son could have easily taken over and controlled this game to never let Sabres within touching distance but Cribb did a decent enough job to keep the 'Heads guard modest. Shooting once again the problem in an otherwise solid game. One assist short of another dub-dub.

Marquis Deen - Couldn't really bring his team home this time around and unfortunately couldn't get the better of Wheelson. Could have shot better but still ended up with an impressive stat line.

    Cumulative:

    Marquis Deen - 24
    Rob Cribb - 22
    Clayton Evans - 15
    Joshua Ritchie - 6
    Paul Tazewell - 4
    Tom Delonge - 4
    Allan Izett - 2
    Bill Kirk - 1
