    Been thinking about this for a little while.

    In my mind, there isn't much wrong with the gameplan/strategic side of Melbourne, it is more the effort showed. So that leads me to the next question, how can Mark Neeld be copping all the abuse for the ON FIELD performances - once those 22 players step onto the field, it is mainly out of his hands.

    I get the whole point of 'It is up to him to get the players up' but surely it can't all fall back on him. The players show no heart, no consistency, no desire and most of all no intent at the contest.

    So i ask the question - who do you believe is to blame?

    The blame deserves to be shared.

    Obviously the footy department during the Bailey era is at fault for the shit list. Neeld is at fault for the shitty off-season recruiting of Dawes, Rodan etc. Mixture of Neeld and the players at fault for how badly they're playing. Most of the Dees players looked disinterested yesterday and they're obv not willing to work for the coach.

    There's other teams in the league who have suffered because of the concessions handed out to GC and GWS, without needing another draft where they are denied access to the best players because Melbourne have drafted and recruited poorly.

    It's pretty much just Melbourne, the Western Bulldogs and Brisbane to be honest. Melbourne aren't that far away from facing a merge, I think that's the issue here.
