yet another (unbeaten) ton for Jehan Mubarak. Quickly becoming my favourite pick of the draft and seriously pushing the likes of Hossain and Rahul for their spots IMO. 862 runs at 95.77 this season. I don't care what y'all haters say, if a bloke averages 52, 46 and 95 in his last three seasons he can't be that shit. especially when most people fapped over picks from sri lanka who average between 45-50
Never seen him before other than some T20 iirc but just using a similar example - Jadeja averaged 65, 86 and 74 over the last few seasons and he's decidedly mediocre with the bat.
I don't actually think Mubarak's that good. He was certainly awful when he played for Sri Lanka so unless he's come of age at 33 he probably still is. I'm just commenting that the common consensus was that averaging 50 in SL domestics is really difficult and those who do have done a mighty task hence picks like Kusal/Kaushal/Roshen Silva etc. were lauded as excellent picks yet a bloke who averages like 65 over the past three seasons, above the 'gun picks' is a shit pick for round 18? The logic doesn't hold
Lokesh Rahul's innings today is making me keen as a bean for this to start. Although to be fair without looking into it much I reckon this lineup is a bit weaker than it was when I drafted it. Rahman's done fuck all, Rehman's lost the plot, Hossain's not in the test frame anymore and I can't think of anyone who's really massively improved.
