Well we are definitely turning back the clock here, I don't know which McDonalds they found her at but the RLSim board seemed to have found Casey Donavon to sing the national anthem. What a beautiful rendition of our anthem while eating a pie at the same time. Anyway, the players are out...the crowd is buzzing, Queensland will kick off, the refeee blows his whistle AND WE ARE UNDERWAY!!!
Update: 9th Minute Well the first 10 minutes have been just back and forth, the two teams are just trying to get into the groove of things again but I tell you what some of these players look like they never left. Some high quality rugby league to start off with Anyway, Queensland have the ball on last tackle and they will kick it deep into the NSW half. It's picked up by Boy who charges it forward and gets taken down at his own 20. Erschoff comes in for a dummy half scoot, he only gets about 6 metres and gets taken down. Here comes wilson to dummy half and he gives it to Green and with a full set of steam he charges it forward...OHH BIG SHOT THERE BY ROBERTSON! GREEN'S DROPPED THE BALL! NSW dive on the loose ball but it's a knock on! What a great shot by Robertson as the crowd groans from the replay on the big screen. Now that's why the shoulder charge ban was lifted. The first chance of the day goes to queensland and the scrum is fed by Taylor who takes it himself just 25 metres out now. 1st tackle, in comes Funkotron for a scoot...he goes towards the short side..oh we know who he is going for he is going straight for bots here...OH BOTS HITS HIM HIGH! OH HERE WE GO THEY ARE GOING AT IT...BOTS AND FUNKOTRON ARE RIPPING INTO EACH OTHER HERE! The crowd is going crazy!!! In comes literally everyone to break it up. Well we heard the banter between the two during the week and well it blew over here! They both smile as the referee cools things down..what will he say here? Penalty to Queensland! He has pinged Bots for the original high shot on Funkotron and the captain King has no troubles in pointing to the uprights for the 2 points to settle it down here. Ironically funkotron is lining up the kick just to the left of the upright. Lines it up...nails it and the first points go to Queensland. They lead 2-0 after 10.
Update: 20th minute Well since that biff earlier in the match the game has settled down here. The coaches seem to be really strict in making sure that a conventional game is played to start with. Queensland have the ball coming out of their own end. It's 3rd tackle and Miokovic gets taken down 35 out from his own line. Pilgrim scoots it up and trys to get a marker offside and runs himself. It doesn't work as Wilson tackles him. OH THE BALL POPS OUT! Penalty! The referee says it was stripped well here we go Queensland will go on the attack. Taylor finds touch 40 metres out. Pilgrim taps..HERE COMES RETZEL! He charges it before getting pulled down. 25 out now! It goes to taylor, he fakes it to miokovic, flicks it back to Chocolate Man who settles it just 15 out now! Taylor, throws it wide to Gayler..CUT OUT BALL TO CAMBRIDGE but he has no room to move..Taylor gets the ball again, looks to engage the line...SHORT BALL TO ROBERTSON..ROBERTS GOES THROUGH...BOY JUMPS ON HIM..ROBERTSON IS OVER THE LINE...but gets held back! the troops come in to save the day! Last tackle now...Taylor is at dummy half..that's not what queensland wanted, he throws it back to pilgrim..OH he's dropped it cold and NSW survive! That was so close for Queensland with Robertson getting across.
