Not the same one we were. Jamie Lyon had the short ball covered. Idris just made a ****ing terrible decision and cost NSW a try/the game.

Idris obviously just really, really wanted to make a 2nd tackle...

Did anybody else spend the whole game screaming out for a forward to take a hit-up?

I thought Tahu was one of our best tbh.

  4. Magic AJ Parker

Yeh Gidley was pretty good for us I thought, Lyon and he really started to link well early in the second half. Wasn't a big fan of him as a hooker or 5/8 before this game but if he is 5/8 for game 2 I wouldn't be overly fussed.

I was actually really surprised at how little Perry did, if you can't get fired up for a SOO game then you've got issues. At least White tried.

Kimmorley went alright but he really does struggle to kick it over 50 metres, thought it kind of let us down a bit and something Pearce would obviously offer but with Hayne at fullback don't see it being a problem. I reckon Kimmorley will get the series, the selectors have hit back at claims they're unloyal in recent times so on that point purely I reckon they'll stick with him (hopefully).

Brilliant in attack but deplorable in defence IMO.

Bullshit. TLL wasn't your best prop. It's a hell of a lot easier to come on and make metres without having endured the opening. Swap him and Weyman and then talk to me. Same goes for QLD - Shillington may have made more metres than Scott but no way was he the better player.

Yeah Gallen and Watmough would be good together:thumbdown:. Watmough made 4 infringements and threw two poor offloads that went to ground and should've been dived on by QLD. They'll contribute a third of the pack's metres but they'll probably contribute half the pack's infringements.

You seem awfully positive and I don't know why. I thought your mob was dreadful and the scoreline flattered them.

I didn't say Shillington was better than Scott. I said TLL was better than Weyman, Perry and White which he undoubtedly was.

You're over stating Watmough's infringements. One wasn't even a penalty.

Yes, I know. It was an analogy.

    Bullshit.

Weyman's defence was better but that wasn't an issue anyway AFAIC.

Oh, forgive me for overstating the importance of infringements. As opposed to you blokes who couldn't care less as long as he makes metres.

I agree it was a harsh penalty. Makes up for the one he should've been pinged for, for pulling tacklers off again like he did last year. Gets away with it every game.

Stop forcing your opinion onto what actually happened MF.

I agree with most of what you've said and pretty much all of what you said running intop the game: (poor right edge defence, Watmough creating space, shithouse props etc etc)

I'm not going to agree with you on this though as it never actually happened without those 3D maroon goggles.

Weyman played longer, harder minutes. He tackled better, ran almost as well and produced two very good offloads.

I say again, when TLL does it whilst starting, then I'll be impressed. Weyman's job was a much bigger ask.

Yes I agree with that. But the both of them carried the entire pack. Which was the reason they barely spen any time on the field together. I reckon Bellamy might even be at wit's end with Perry and White now.

Bellamy could not play the two better props together because if they were both off at the same time (at any point) we would have averaged less than 30 metres per set.

Hey mf are you actually going to Origin 2? If so you should come and have a few beers (fire engines for Gemmell) with us before or after.

    Hahahahaha.

    Yeah that comment is ridiculous.

I'm gonna re watch it this arvo, I was sitting a far way away so I missed a few little things as I was focusing on where players were positionally.

It's amazing how many of the basics all these super stars seem to be too good too worry about. Don't think I saw one winger standing on the chalk, always hovering a good 5m in, centres wondering around not really paying attention and being ahead of the play, even ridiculously simple things like running one out.

A simple two may not get you any extra metres but it does stop 4 defenders jamming up and slowing the play the ball right down and when you've got Josh Perry running at Petero, Myles and the like it makes a world of difference.

    lol, wtf?

Did he or did he not drop the ball twice?

Did he or did he not throw two dud offloads?

Did he not play at a Costigan pass after a half break and give QLD another set?

Did he not run up on Thurston in the first half, (who was going to have to kick from his own 25m) turn his back and allow not only a hole, but another 10m for JT to run before kicking?

Fair enough if you want to say the penalty was harsh. I would agree. But watch him the very next tackle he makes. He continually uses his knees to slow the play-the-ball like Kimmorley. You want to do that shit, well you'll get burned every now and then.

I'm certainly not saying he played badly. But acting like he and TLL were awesome, is disingenuous IMO.

Bellamy doesn't even realise who the best two props in that line up are.
