Falcons GK: Michael Chung D: Jack Dempsey D: Bobby Blunder LW: Ben Manera C: Ben Herd RW Andrew James Mighty Sharks GK: Eddie Morris D: DG Dafter D: HJ Bots LW: Brett Hall C: AJ Izett RW S Bakkum Our second game of round 4 brings us to the newly named Georgia Dome for the Falcons, league leaders, up against the Mighty Sharks. The Sharks will be looking to make up for a shootout lost last round to what was the bottom team in the Ice Hurricanes.
There's only so many third period winners we can pull out of the bag. Kind of worried about this game.
End of 1st Period: Falcons 0, Mighty Sharks 0 A very tight defensive game here, as you'd expect from both these teams, they do not let in many goals at all. Infact The Falcons are yet to let in a single goal this season. This one looks like a low scoring game, unless one team tires out.
End of 2nd Period: Falcons 0, Mighty Sharks 0 The defence keeping strong for both sides still, these teams have shown all season they won't break easily. Bots, Dafter and Blunder handing out a lot of punishment from the back. The attacks are struggling for genuine chances to score.
End of Period 3: Falcons 0, Mighty Sharks 0 his one will be going to OT. Manera can't believe it he expect to get a goal this period and be going home to put his feet up. The period showed some frustration with Dafter laying into Dempsey until the refs were finally able to break it up and give both 5 minutes. Late in the period Herd missed a golden opportunity to score after receiving the puck with the keeper not quite in position, but he shot it wide of the goal. You know the drill by now hopefully but we'll have 20 minutes of OT, followed by a shootout if no team has scored.
