Update – 38th minute: Just a couple of minutes now remain until half time and the Donkehs are yet to put any points on the board. The Hawks once again have the ball in good field position being 40 metres out from their own line on 2nd tackle. It comes back to Hornby who gives it off to Taylor who gives it to the centre, Ben Taylor, he takes a hitup. 3rd tackle now it comes back to Hornby who gives it to Gayler…Gayler charges forward himself…GAYLER GOES STRAIGHT THROUGH WHERE WAS THE DEFENSE THERE?!?!? HE GETS PASSED HALFWAY…TO THE 40….HERE COMES THE DEFENSE…BUT HERE COMES DENTON IN SUPPORT….GAYLER LOOKS TO PASS…HERE COMES THE DEFENDER…GAYLER TO DENTON…DENTON WITH AN OPEN LINE IN FRONT OF HIM….OHHH DENTON DROPS THE BALL! DENTON COULDN’T CATCH GAYLER’S PASS…its picked up by Dorn for the Donkehs..HE THROWS IT WIDE TO POPOVIC…he has caught the defense off guard here!! POPOVIC IS AWAY…POPOVIC DOWN THE SIDELINE….POPOVIC TO HALFWAY…TO THE 40…..TO THE 30….STACKER IS CHASING…POPOVIC TO THE 20…HERE COMES STACKER….BUT POPOVIC WILL HAVE TOO MUCH PACE AND ON THE STROKE OF HALFTIME THE DONKEHS WILL SCORE! Unbelievable turn of events there, the Hawks were certain to score from lazy donkehs defense but denton couldn’t hold onto it. It’s 10-4 with a kick to come! Dorn with a kick…3 metres in from touch. He lines it up…walks towards it…he strikes it…it looks good…IT LOOKS VERY GOOD…ITS THERE! As the hooter for halftime goes, the Hawks now only lead the Donkehs by 10-6!
