The hand of Sauron!
That would be funny!

I couldn't find a flag thread but there's probably discussion in the NZ subbie.

Fiery how do you figure we will fair against Argentina

New Zealand: 15 Ben Smith, 14 Nehe Milner-Skudder, 13 Conrad Smith, 12 Ma'a Nonu, 11 Julian Savea, 10 Dan Carter, 9 Aaron Smith, 8 Kieran Read, 7 Richie McCaw ©, 6 Jerome Kaino, 5 Sam Whitelock, 4 Brodie Retallick, 3 Owen Franks, 2 Dane Coles, 1 Tony Woodcock

Replacements: 16 Keven Mealamu, 17 Wyatt Crockett, 18 Charlie Faumuina, 19 Victor Vito, 20 Sam Cane, 21 TJ Perenara, 22 Beauden Barrett, 23 Sonny Bill Williams

I have been looking at our bench. With the exception of Mealamu, Barrett and Vito, all the rest are second stringers and we would be in trouble if an injury happened and they had to play 80 minutes in the knockout games. We don't have as much depth as what I thought. We have a killer starting XV and then after that is meh.

Pool C kicking off now with Tonga v Georgia... should be interesting

I think the ABs will want to make a real statement.

30 point win

Argentina are being cunts about this game though. They know that second place in this pool will still give them a decent quarterfinal yet they aren't rolling over for us. They have named their very best line up and it is not inconceivable that they could win.

Argies are severely underrated in this tournament. I have the ratings as

New Zealand
England
Daylight
Wales
RSA
Daylight
Australia = Ireland
Daylight
France = Argentina
Daylight
Scotland
Daylight
Italy
anyone else

New Zealand by 8. We will be a bit rusty in this match and Argies will match us up front.

Frig me you make some strange posts on rugby sometimes. Why on earth wouldn't Argentina give this game their best crack? It's a world cup match. It counts.

List has far too much 'daylight'. England, South Africa, Australia and Ireland are all in the chasing pack and Wales' tough draw and injuries has them struggling to keep up with that group. France are really just not very good and haven't been for four years but at least have a strong pack and can do some damage to any side.

Given the draw I'd rank Argentina above Wales and Scotland for world cup success but no higher.

Yeah come on Hurricane they have to go for it, the confidence and self belief they could get out of winning could carry them all the way to a semi or final.

Lol at your ranking, I would go:

New Zealand
Daylight
England
Australia
RSA
Ireland
France (As it's a WC)
Daylight
Argentina
Wales
Daylight
Anyone else

Nothing wrong with my posts in my humble opinion.

Many teams would accept that they can't beat us and rest some of their top dogs for the game. I am not saying they should do that but just that it has happened in past world cups when teams have played us in the pool stages (if you had watched them and remembered those moments). France for example put in a no show against us in 2011 in the pool play.

I am sorry my logic - doesn't equal yours - but the beauty of mankind is that we all think differently.

PS you are welcome not to respond to my posts if you find them strange. I won't mind as I don't think I will be missing much.

God Tonga and Georgia are hard too watch, I hope France v Italy is worth getting up for in the morning. Swear ITM cup teams could beat these guys

Is the French really an example of a team rolling over? They never get up for anything that isn't a playoff match, they lost to Tonga last WC, such muppets they are

Georgian anti-rugby proving pretty effective atm.

They seem to have added some grubbers to the mix since i last saw them, when it was all crash ball all the time. Still some way off actual passes but you never know

Yeah there skills are just way off. Terrible passing and kicking skills so far, the forwards look good though (really physical). The Tongan halfback is also useless, slowing their ball down so much and giving terrible passes.

18 year old Georgian scrum half Vasil Lobzhanidze is the youngest ever RWC player, apparently

Preferred the days when the ref would just listen to the TMO instead of insisting on seeing everything themselves.

This game is painful to watch.
