  1. Hurricane JD Hurricane

    Alright quiz time

The following are excerpts from Wikipedia - name the player - no googling.

    1) with a reputation for thuggery on the pitch

    2) Ian McGeechan commented in his autobiography that X's failure to rise to the occasion as a Lion (in contrast to Y) may be seen by some
as the difference between his legacy as a good player and a great player.

    3) His inability to score tries was often a joking point in the team

    4) X was born ...in the village of Cambridge in the Waikato

    5) X grew up with a love for both rugby and cricket, and even represented Z in the latter. When an injury affected his batting and bowling he decided to pursue rugby instead and was selected for Y junior Craven Week team.

    6) He was also outstanding for the Lions, winning the X series against
    New Zealand with a long-range drop-goal

    7) one of only five players to have scored a try in every game
    during a Five Nations season.

    8) X is a big man in every sense of the word... his greatest asset was to engender confidence in those around him and to lead by example when the opposition had to be taken on. In New Zealand, they considered him simply the best full-back in the world.

    9) he scored in every test he played in,including a try against Wales in 1984 when he was temporarily relieved of kicking responsibilities.

    10) X was born in Lusaka, Zambia

  9. Droos JP Rhodes

Fuck knows. A great idea might be putting the country that that player represented in there, just to make it a very small tad easier.

  10. Alex Mediocre MBE A Mediocre

Is 10 'most of the Zambian rugby team'?

Kidding. I'm guessing there could be more than one answer but George Gregan's the one we're after.

  11. The Boy Brumby ZJ Brumby

Corne Krige (sp?) the filthy-as-fuck ex-Springbok skipper was Zambian by birth too, I think.

    6) Is JPR? Lions have famously only won one series versus NZ.

    Hints

    #3 NZ player

    #5 a player of the 2000s

    #7 a French player

  16. Howe JHF Howe

Isn't #7 evidently true of five players?

  17. Weeman27bob BE Force

The only player who has achieved it since #7 did was Gregor Townsend.

Is 9) Michael Lynagh then? Think the Wobblies' Grand Slam tour was 84.

& 1) must be Colin Meads. As Ken Catchpole would attest. :ninja:
