Rugby League Draft - 1995 to now

    Figured this could be a bit of fun. Looking for around 16 teams.

    Rules:
    1. Players must have played first grade after the start of 1995 season
    2. Player rating taken from overall career
    not only 1995 onwards
    3. Draft order randomised then reversed each round
    4. Draft picks to be made within 24 hours or next player can pick
    5. Squads of 17 to be picked

    Teams:

    1. Benny
    2. Ged
    3. Manero
    4. Gemmell
    5. Julian
    6. MF
    7. Cribb?
    8. Emm
    9. Speirz
    10. 99*
    11. Hughesy
    12. Alex
    13. Rusty
    14. The todd
    15. Magic
    16.

    Sweet as. Dunno if this should get a subbie for team threads and shit. Could go in CPL and if Rob makes his sim we could run a comp with the teams

    I think that it's too difficult. The game has changed so much since when some of the blokes available were in their prime. A draft sounds like good fun though.

    It's impossible but I reckon it'd be great to see a 30 team comp with this. It'd really test the depth of knowledge.

    so once the teams are filled, a random order will get made then its reversed for the 2nd round. each team will pick until squads are filled. Should begin quality discussion on the best players of the last 20 or so years of league

    I would do it from 1995. Too many players from all the way back to 1990. And there was a big shift in the zeitgeist of RL from the Lewis, Sterling, Meninga period to the Lockyer, Johns, Fittler era. I would avoid that overlap at all costs.

    Langer belongs in the latter.

    i like the idea of having the former guys included but am also definitely cool with doing it 95 onwards as thats when i started watching league, what do others think?
