He got smashed every time he got the ball. Him and O'Donnell were ****ing terrible.

Thurston with a 10 out of 10 match, brilliant!

I didn't pay much attention, and he looked fairly average when I did, tbh.

I think the fact that NQLD haven't had a decent 5/8th probably since Thurston got there has contributed to this. He has been pressured as being a one man team for too long. He isn't mentally disciplined enough to be able to control his team to grind out a win.

  4. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    Yep. He was shithouse.

Mason always looks like he gets smashed; it's an illusion. He always attracts in three or four defenders and makes plenty of metres. If he manages to offload there's always space because teams *always* triple-team him.

That said, he was indeed terrible tonight. :p

  6. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

You can't expect discipline from a coon.

  7. Howsie DP Howell

Average really. He wasn't bad or anything but he really didn't do anything of note.

Ty Williams was shithouse too. His effort to stop Kemp was ordinary at best. Made a couple good busts but has butter fingers, seemed lazy to get to the ball.

But he usually bends the line and makes big yards. He got dominated tonight and was put to ground instantly.

Ty Williams was worst on ground tonight. He was a ****ing joke and needs to be dropped for Gallant instantly.

  11. Howsie DP Howell

Ty Williams was lethargic all night tbh.

Nah the Cowboys have had an excellent five-eighth the whole time: Thurston himself. What they've lacked is a decent halfback. :p

I'm sure the likes of MF would probably disown me for saying this but he just has too much say on when he gets the ball - there should be someone with more game-state awareness and composure deciding when it's time for Thurston to put something on. Payne either needs to take a lot more control of the forwards and the key decision-making or Thurston needs to be bumped to 6.

Thats what I mean, even when he made a couple of linebreaks he found some way to **** it up.
Definitely agree he should be dropped.

Yeah, Williams's best asset was always his pace. He lost that with that bad injury he had and he's just lost all confidence since then. It's not just that he's slower now but he generally looks like a reserve grader out there and I have no confidence in him to do anything correctly at all.

If Thurston had someone at number 6 the entire time that was quality he could have easily been turned into a top quality halfback though so I am not really wrong in saying that having no 5/8th contributed to this.

He has too much say on when he gets the ball because there is no one else. Payne is indeed someone and probably the only one there suitable who needs to take more control but it seems as though he is clueless when he isn't in dummy half. Probably because the coach tells him and everyone to give the ball to Thurston.

the last try scored, Williams should have been across to stop a LOT earlier, he was no where to be seen.

Because he is a shit **** coon. Why do so many abos wear headgear? They don't have a brain to protect.

True but some of the missed tackles leading to it were pathetic also. Summed up though why the Cowboys didnt deserve to win the game, Broncos for most of the game were better, had a lot better defence, put the Cowboys attack under pressure, it was that 20 minutes that the Broncos nearly lost the game from such a commanding position.

Henjak seems like he has an eye for rookies. Last year with Glenn, McCullough, Yow Yeh and Winterstein and this year is looking promising too, with Beale, Norman and even Gillett was very impressive on debut.

He needs to get his eye onto proper team selections and bench rotations.
