I think its time for Boyd and Milf to switch.

Milford's ball playing is pretty much non-existent. His strength is always going to be his running game and the extra few seconds he'd get playing at the back would make him far more effective.
We could deal with Milf at 6 when we had Hunt; Nikorima is just a worse version of him though.

Really hard to watch, especially when I had $60 on Goates for FTS.

I don't even want to think about how disgusting Thaiday was. Milford was horrible, and I only noticed Nikorima on the field 3-4 times. Kahu trying to defend was comical. The only positive was how good TPJ was, cunt is a star.

Can Milford develop into an actual half? He seems to only play on instinct, and thus looks lost more than half the time. I have more faith in Kodi these days, but he doesn't seem to have the balls to take the ball away from Milford.

Opacic has to play centre until Bird recovers from injury. I was pretty impressed with Isaako. Also I thought Lodge went pretty well minus a couple of brain snaps. He'll only get better too.

I'd give Kahu another week at centre, purely because Opacic was 1/10 in that finals game vs the Cowboys a few years ago.

    Milford's 2015 season was superb at five-eighth.

He doesn't seem to want to play like that anymore.

I remember when Brisbane first signed Milford and I posted a lot about how I didn't think he'd really make it as a gun five-eighth because his ball-playing wasn't good enough, and that he'd be better off at fullback. I conceded pretty quickly that I was wrong and he had a lot more creativity than I gave him credit for. Sometimes he still looks a bit like he did at Canberra, but I think that comes about more when he has to organise and structure a side which he'll probably not ever be very good at. His vision and ball skills are fine for the spot but I do think he needs to play with an organiser - at either hooker or alongside him in the halves or preferably both - who can organise the team's go-forward before unleashing Milford's ball skills and running game on the back of that. He's a much more traditional five-eighth than most of the 6s going around at the moment, which is fine but you need to balance the side well around him to get the best out of him.

I don't think Nikorima or Bird are good partners for him at all, so he could well look a bit out of sorts all season. I'd be more inclined to give Dargan a run there -- I don't really rate him but he's at least the type of player who I think would bring the best out of Milford.

Agree that Nikorima, and certainly not Bird suit playing with Milford. Brisbane need to get someone like Sezer.

Where was Alfie Langer? Doesn't he do all the organising?

I think Bennett coached sides seemed to be so structured that he's never really needed a strong organiser in the side to get success, saw as stat yesterday that they won 10/12 games last year with Nikorima/Milf as the halves combo so I can't see Bennett doing anything drastic after 1 round. I never really thought much of Hunt as an organiser either.

Getting Thaiday out of dummy half will do wonders for their direction too.
