QLD SOO Side for Game 1

    After receiving word from the NSW selectors that they're going to need more time to figure out their side, as they just can't decide who the halfback for NSW is going to be, the QLD selectors have decided to buck tradition, and name their side before them.

    5. Steve Cambridge
    6. Ryan Gayler
    7. Tim Taylor
    8. Theo Miokovic
    9. Luke Pilgrim
    10. Peter Retzel

    12. Chocolate Man
    13. Ged King

    14. Nigel Hunt
    15. Paddy Orr
    16. Adam Vago
    17. Brett Gemmell

    18. Egg Man

    There might be some surprising choices in there. Manera at 1 is due to our complete lack of depth at fullback. Harding was the only eligible player who played there this season, but he didn’t exactly perform like a superstar, plus he’s really a kiwi.

    Webber was very solid for the Hawks this season, particularly in defence, and he and Cambridge will be tasked with shutting down Bots and whatever centre he’s paired up with.

    Man comes off the Test Eagles bench into the starting line-up. He's been absolutely gun for them, awesome for QLD in the past, and I've been surprised that he didn't start more. I've no doubt he would have been a certain starter for most, if not all other clubs. Obviously Parker being at his club didn't help him in that regards.

    Aaand that’s about it. Gemmell has a tough job in that he’s going to have to play as a bit of a utility for us. It’s not ideal, but he’s obviously a bit of a ball-player, so if he has to jump into dummy-half he should be able to handle it.

    Funkotron will be the goal-kicker, and King will stay on as captain, btw.

    I've decided that you've played all your junior footy there, seeing as it's actually your preferred position. :p

    Also, I have a feeling you played a couple of games there in season 1 when Boy got injured.
