Drinkwater >>> Dearden
Townsend is a really strange signing, I think with his age the Cowboys have been fooled into thinking they're getting an experienced organiser when in reality they're probably just overpaid for a below average halfback. Would have been better off taking a punt on someone like Adam Clune if you wanted to sign an organiser. A fraction of the cost and potential to be a better prospect.
Interesting that news has just broken they have signed Dearden as well, that just makes it even more bizarre. Payten must not rate his current group of halves whatsoever.
Think Sam Walker will end up at the Broncos now, there's no way a club doesn't come out and throw a million dollars at him.
Is water wet?
Does a one legged duck swim in circles?
Do you know much about how Cordner has been managed through this? I've been reading a few odds and ends saying that multiple specialists say he's sweet, no brain degeneration etc etc, which is obviously terrific, but makes this round 12 return seem fairly arbitrary. A few of the articles I've read have said it's a club based decision rather than medical advice (as in external medical advice I suppose, any club stuff must involve the club doc). Robinsons talk on it all is super cautious too, which is great that they're taking it so seriously, but it's just all seemed a bit weird. I haven't really seen Cordner himself talking/interviewed about it much, but I'm not on twitter so might be missing things.
Yeah I feel like the new Brisbane club is going to try to make Walker their marquee signing. Especially if it's the Jets.
Broncos have no idea what they are doing. I picture us throwing millions at Reynolds and wondering why we don't improve with a shit cunt 7 who has a great kicking game.
I didn't realise he was from up there, he'd be perfect for them.
Kev has just announced that Dearden has signed with Cows.
I didn't actually realise Townsend was that old. Seems like just yesterday Wilson was talkign him up when he came in to grade about being from a winning culture/junior success etc (iirc).
In short a lot of it has to do with theories on neuroplasticity. The thought that the brain can re-wire and heal itself. They've kept exactly what he's doing for treatment extremely quiet not sure why but I think a lot of it can sometimes seem a little out there and they're probably just avoiding a media stir.
I know there are some success stories in America of former athletes with brain trauma having really strong responses to marijuana and physchedelics. So he may have just been off in the Blue Mountains living life talking the shit with lizards.
Yeah right, the only thing I don't quite get is they've said his brain scans etc show no signs of deterioration,,, so what are they healing?
Something along those lines. How times have changed.
He’s an passenger now and an out and out liability most of the time. His defence is ordinary and his kicking game is over-rated when you think that was one of North Queensland’s selling points to his signing. He needs an extremely dominant half to play with ala Maloney.
Chad was apart of our first premiership however so I’ll bag the original take as winner too thanks Eddie.
NQ need to re-sign Drinkwater if they're able to.
Play him where? Move Holmes to wing? Dearden bench/ISC?
The money being tossed around for Moses, Johnson and Reynolds and the talk of any of these cunts going to Brisbane as if that will go even halfway to fixing them, is divorced from reality.
The talk of a million for Reynolds is insane. I'd have no problem with Moses and Johnson going to Brisbane for the right price. Quickest and most realistic targets for Brisbane should be Manu or Staines to play 1 if either of them can get an early release as they are both under used for their talent in their current position, try to get 1 of Su'a/Capewell and then they could still afford a Moses or SJ. Brisbane now being linked with Widdop and Sezer, something that should have happened 2 years ago, now Brisbane will need to pay overs.
Unfortunately Lockyer has the Warne virus. The retention and recruitment effort of the Broncos is diabolical, and Locky needs to get out of it.
My guess is maybe Dearden to bench but then have to consider Granville/Robson. Drinkwater to be fair though can play in other positions to cover injuries too.
The fact that Sezer had to go to England is a joke in itself.
Separate names with a comma.
