Fox Sports have restarted this. A couple of days ago Fox played the game where Brett Finch tried to kick for touch off the tap but kicked it out on the full. Since then there was an attempt in both games and both were successful. They referenced the Finch incident in both games too.
Sherwin was the king at this. Such an underused play especially with the new rules that you can sprint back to the 20 for a quick tap there's often no fullback at home.
How often is it the halfback that's running back though? I guess someone like Hayne could really make use of it.
Very costly if you don't succeed though. Would have to be a massive morale drop from the players who just defended a set and thought they were no longer under pressure.
They were calling a punt from the hands to your boot a 'drop punt' that's why it got confusing. providing the ball bounces in the field of play and goes out you can kick it however u wish.
Thurston's one was boss. Although commentary claimed it had to be a drop kick from the 20? Sure its just a kick, but something else is a 20m dropkick?
