    People thought it was creepy.

I know Teja enjoyed it though....

Go away and ignore the simming then. You've picked your team.

AWTA. It's a fun thing guys. It's never going to be perfect.

I don't want to have a wah about it again as I've already made my point, but anything where Andrew Ellis becomes a good selection seems a bit meh. It would have been better if this had been known upfront, but that would have taken most of the fun out of the selection process I reckon.

Statistically speaking, the sample sizes are just too small and it's led to some extreme peculiarities.

I personally do think that given this issue - the fact we've all had to pick a number of players with less than 10 first class caps - that this exercise is much better to run as a paper based subjective assessment and not a simulation as the results are not statistically sound.

So yeah, I'll select my team and I'm happy to discuss and chat about the relative merits of each but I have little to no interest in the simming exercise.

Bowden makes a return to my avatar due to me finally picking him up! What a number 8, what a player.

  5. Athlai JJD Heads

Surely players who have played Tests for NZ should have that somewhat influence their stats ala Ryder.

  6. Gazza GJ Weaver

    Guptill, McCullum etc.

  7. Phlegm SP Phlegm

So Heef, your team what you were realistically aiming for?

  8. Cribbage RG Cribb

    Yeah that's why he's 45 instead of 41.

I actually agree with all of that, surprising as it may be. The simming is just for a bit of fun; it's not supposed to decide much as such. I didn't pick my team with simming in mind or I wouldn't have bothered trading a gun opening batsman away just to secure someone who could bowl spin, for example.

We actually started the draft before I even officially agreed to sim it (I think) - it was always supposed to be about the draft first and the simming second, unlike CPL for example.

One thing I will say, though:

So.. the Plunket Shield in circa 2008/09 was a bit meh? :p

How many runs did he score in Tests in this period? Do Tests count for more?

Also could you show me the simming average of Harvie?

  13. Gazza GJ Weaver

    Mitchell McClenaghan

    Tradeski Dents?

  14. Ari PM Jackson

**** who is left? Throw some names out for me please.

  15. Gazza GJ Weaver

    Rutherford

  16. Cribbage RG Cribb

    9.58 / 35.01

Was it the Plunket Shield in 2008/09? Either way, Ellis is a prank bowler and I'd rather see the Cantabrian half-back Andy Ellis bowling in this. I suspect he's a better bowler.

  18. Gazza GJ Weaver

    Shit, not bad at all.

  19. Athlai JJD Heads

I have 11 eligible players, I'd chuck out the names but there is the possibility someone is hoping for one to sneak through to them. None have more than 170 runs IIIRC or more than 15 wickets.

  20. nz0003 JR Denton

    Yeah, all good.

    Final Squad:

    Corey Anderson
    Peter McGlashen+
    Dewayne Bowden
    Malaesaili Tugaga
    Tarun Nethula
