I ****in hate how their big executive guys are so up themselves. They're so arrogant going on about how its their NRL grand Final and how they own it, which is such shit. It's the NATIONAL rugby league. If there are QLD teams in the final, QLD should have a chance to host. What do you guys think?
Deciding where the final is to be hosted the week before the game itself is a ridiculous concept. Put simply, if Suncorp can put together a better argument than anywhere else to host it, then they should have the rights. It's a big ask to get past the politics and $$$ ANZ Stadium has though.
Is it that hard to get? Like the AFL, the NRL is a national competition with the Grand Final played in its traditional home state. That shouldn't change until Queensland have a stadium as big as ANZ and a bid higher than that of NSW. Even then, NSW is the home.
Isn't Suncorp the 'best' stadium for league in Australia anyway? Can't see why it shouldn't host the final itbt, just interchage between it and ANZ each year.
What a ridiculously flawed statement. We'll be keeping it traditional as well as it'll be in the traditional home country, continent, hemisphere, world, etc. In fact, when you consider how traditional our final will be, the loss of one small traditional-ism will be completely insignificant. We could even move it back to it's traditional timeslot, which would help boost up the traditionilism of the event, seeing as you now seem to care so much about that.
