?

Which method do you prefer?

  1. Draft system

    14.3%
  2. Bidding (same as previous years)

    85.7%

    Ok so I have purchased the competition for first division. Firstly, they sent me an email with some rule changes so here they are:

    Secondly, does anyone have the ladder from last season? I completely forgot who got relegated and who should be promoted.

    Thirdly, I am intrigued by the draft system. I reckon it would be pretty good. What would you guys prefer? The usual way or the draft. Maybe a change isn't such a bad thing. At least for our hearts given how crazy the bidding gets. I don't mind either way so I'll put a poll up and see what you guys want (obv I only give a shit about the participants opinions).

    I like the bidding system. The draft becomes susceptable to who goes first etc etc. I also reckon make it so we can't see who else has voted.

    I would like the draft if it was quick.

    Hmmm. I reckon the draft would make things alot even. With the bidding It's more got to do with how well you manage your money and how well you bluff rather than your knowledge of players.

    Bidding is definately funner/more stressful.

    Bidding's more tactical I reckon. It makes your knowledge of less knwon players an advantage.

    I just read up on the rules of the draft system.

    Positives;

    We are all fairly active people. It won't take too much time to do. The great thing is that I can set a time period for the draft each night that suits everyone so they aren't forced to forfeit their pick. If they do happen to have no choice but to miss, I am able to make a pick for you (obv you would tell me and trust that I wouldn't steal it or whatever).

    We can also have a mixture of both. Say we draft the first 10 players on our roster then we can still bid it out for the remainders and we all know from experience that those remainders are just as important.

    Negatives;

    Well the biggest negative is the luck of the draw. Due to the fact that there are only 16 goal kickers then whoever gets unlucky and turns out to be one of the last picks may be forced to get someone that either isn't necessarily good or they just don't want. In saying that, I don't necessarily believe everyone will go for a goal kicker straight away.

    Yeah, that just brought up my other issue wit hthe draft. You're almost forced into taking players that aren't your favourite.

    Bidding for me.

    Well having a draft doesn't mean that you can't use that knowledge to your advantage. You can either a) use a draft pick for them or b) bid for them afterwards.

    Think a mix would work well for this.

    I have a Sticky Pole

  12. Hunter AD Hunt

    Bidding. If there was some way to get around the gk issue then a mixture would be pretty cool.

    Actually I can set it so that no goal kickers are allowed to be bought during the draft. That would be a perfect compromise.

    How does many work during the draft. Do you get everyone at base price?

  15. GYR DW Lewis

    You get them for three times the min price and having a look there arent many players priced over 100k

    I'm sweet with a mixture.

    Bidding is the way to go.

    And It was Hunter and Myself to get the promotion.

    Who won the second div?

  19. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

    I think Hunter did. All I remember is Hunter beating me by a point or so in the regular season, and 3rd was daylight.

    You didn't make the final? Bl. Winner and runner up go through.
