  1. Benny BS Read

He hasn't been in the top 5 halfbacks at any stage of his career!!!

  2. Fiery GR Smith

  3. Hunter AD Hunt

He's top 5. Basing it on club level footy I'd have him at #5.

  4. Fiery GR Smith

    Golden Boot

Really? Thurston, Cronk, Cherry-Evans, Hunt and then Johnson?

Basing it on club football I don't even put him above Pearce.

So a guy who cant pass yet is good at catching the ball, running and scoring tries would not be an effective winger?

  8. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Argue it if you think it's hilariously wrong. Pearce is actually quite a good club halfback IMO.

  9. Wilson SB Wilson

No point picking on Fiery for what number he puts on Johnson or Robson's back. Makes fuck all difference these days.

  10. Wilson SB Wilson

Not hard to learn how to pass. He's better suited to centre.

  11. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

It's not easy either. If it were we wouldn't have so many centres who struggle to set up their outside man. From what I've seen of him, Kata doesn't have a clue as to how to do this.

  12. Wilson SB Wilson

Passing and setting up their outside man are two entirely different things.

  13. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

Yes they're distinct from each other but they're also very much related in that it's pretty hard to set up your outside man if you can't pass. Either he can't pass and he knows it thus he's less inclined to try and create something, or, which I think is much more likely, he's just an out and out ball runner/ball hog and he'll probably never develop that part of his game.

  14. Wilson SB Wilson

He is 100% undoubtably a ball runner and ball hog. He is a islander and he is an outside back, they are all the same.

  15. Fiery GR Smith

Both Kata and Hurrell need to improve their passing games tbh. But both are still both more suited to the centres than the wing.

  16. Magic AJ Parker

He might be better suited to centres but there's no way Kata in the centres with Lolohea on the wing makes any sense over the alternative of lolohea in the centres & Kata on the wing.

It's dead set Rugby League 101.

  17. Fiery GR Smith

It's not a bad idea actually

  18. Fiery GR Smith

Hoffman named captain. Mannering stood down.

    Good call.

  19. Harry Sack SB Slippy

Why is it a good call? Surely there's something underlying here

  20. Magic AJ Parker

Because he's Aussie obviously or did you want Aussies to play less of a role in the team? I can't keep up Fiery.
