I'll have to find the article, it stated that this past round was the 1st since 95 that Brisbane played prior to an Origin week with their full spine available. Retarded thing is that they failed to mention that it was the year they were banned from playing... It should have read that it was the 1st time ever, although they played the 95 season due to them being banned.

IN State of Origin, rules are rules. Unless of course it's in the Blues' interests to change them.

The ARL Commission will announce its first decision on the game's showpiece. Surprise, surprise, they've shown their true colours, and they ain't maroon and white.

When the commissioners were being appointed we were told they would be a group of businesspeople with no allegiance to club or state. They got that part right, because it's obvious they've made a commercial decision here.

Having Queensland avoid three series losses in a row was fine back in 2006. Having them win three in a row of their own was acceptable in 2008. But here it is now, the countdown to 2013, and the Blues are staring down the barrel at consecutive loss number eight.

You don't need to be an IT millionaire like Commission boss John Grant (or a former Blues player and coach like Wayne Pearce) to work out that if the annual humiliation continues for another season NSW fans won't bother showing up.

So, what's the solution? Obviously the playing field has to be made a little more level in the Blues' favour - but how?

What about changing the judiciary rules, with penalty loadings on NSW players discounted during the Origin period?

Nah, hang on. That's already been done, with Glenn Lazarus in 1998.

Well, how about this: count meaningless representative games for which NSW Origin players aren't even selected as time served to shorten suspensions?

Oh yeah. They already did that for Nathan Hindmarsh and Jason Ryles in 2002.

Well, why not make it easy and just not cite NSW players for blatant illegalities? Oh, that's right: Andrew Johns, 2004.

Wait a minute, I've got it. All they have to do is get the judiciary chairman to change the definition of an offence a few minutes before a NSW player appears, clear him and change the definition back after the meeting. What? They did think of it before, for Jarryd Hayne in 2010?

The more you talk about it, the more it makes sense. Just take away Queensland's second home game for 2013 and give it to the Blues. As one NSW journalist wrote yesterday, "It's a fair deal for all parties".

With that logic he'll be on the Commission before you can say Blue, I mean boo.

I seriously don't actually mind Colman that much. I mean that's obviously a poor article but it's also obviously not meant to be taken 100% seriously. He's basically a satirical rugby league writer; he exaggerates almost stylistically and actually makes great use of sarcasm throughout the vast majority of his articles. He doesn't take himself as seriously as the other knobs which can allow for some vaguely decent articles even if his grasp on the game is, at times, limited.

I might've already posted it in here, but this is pretty much my favourite RL article ever:

And it was written by Colman for the Courier Fail. He's obviously a bit hit and miss but I appreciate him for what he is.

Nah tbf I'm pretty sure I'd posted about my love/hate relationship with Mike Coleman before he joined. Can't imagine James telling Martin Crowe that he's written some crap either. :p

Yeah see even in this thread before he joined I was a fan(ish).

    So GAGF Captain.

Oh actually that was after he joined but before we realised. But I probably can't claim that one.
