    I don't understand why you would ever let a doctor protect themselves. Guarantees that they can just be a selfish shunt to progress through the game; especially if the role is in the hands of a sub-competent player.

    If someone really has no clue who to doc, it makes more sense to doc yourself (known town to you) than waste it on someone else.

    It does open the selfish possibility, but you just hope that people won't be shunts.
