Grand Final: Test Eagles vs Hawks LIVE!!!! @ ANZ Stadium!!!

Update – 2nd minute: Certainly a fast paced start here for both teams. It will be interesting to see how long they can keep this up for. The Test Eagles have the ball now on 4th tackle about 35 metres out from their own line. It comes back from Izett to Jacobs and he throws it wide to Parker who will just take a settler here. Last tackle now it comes back to Jacobs, who kicks downfield and just outside the 40….it is a good one too as it finds open space but it is picked up by Stacker who charges forward. He gets pulled down 20 metres out, a pretty good chase there. It’s picked up by shriram who takes a scoot forward….BOOM OH WHAT A SHOT…He has just been absolutely smashed by the defense! A great shot much to the cheer from the crowd. Shriram manages to get up though and it’s picked up by Wilson, who looks to go himself, Wilson charges forward….OH GREAT HIT! Izett just picked him up and dumped him…..AND WILSON HAS DROPPED THE BALL! Wilson has dropped the ball after that great shot by Izett! The players high five each other in excitement and they will get the first opportunity of the game to score. Now hold on here, it seems as though Izett has come off 2nd best in the tackle and he is yet to get up off the ground. The medical team are on the scene straight away and he seems to be complaining of a shoulder injury. It did seem as though the shoulder was in an awkward position……Well he is being taken off the field and this is not a good sign for the Test Eagles early on losing their hooker and hopefully he will be able to return. In comes Andrew James as the replacement.

The scrum is packed now and it comes away to Jacobs who throws it to Manera who just charges it forward, he is taken down just 20 metres out, what a chance this is! It comes to James who throws it to Kobain, who wraps around Lewis who gets taken down 15 metres out. 2nd tackle now, Jacobs gets into dummy half…JACOBS CHARGES TOWARDS THE LINE! But he is pulled down short. 5 metres out now, it comes to james, who throws it to Kobain…..Dummies to Hunt, looks to throw it wide….NO THROWS IT SHORT TO A SCREAMING RABBIT BOY…RABBIT BOY FOR THE LINE!! HE IS OVER THE LINE! But he gets pulled back! 4th tackle now…James with the ball, it seems as though they are a bit lost here he doesn’t know who to give it to, he dummies…PUTS IN A LITTLE GRUBBER............JAMES IS CHASING…..the defense turn around to get the ball…BUT JAMES GETS THERE FIRST! IT’S A TRY TO JAMES AND A TRY TO THE TEST EAGLES! Well there was absolutely nothing doing there and James who just came on for the injured Izett pulled something out of nothing, he showed a lot of speed to get to that ball and has scored the first try of the game. It’s 4-0 with a kick to come.

A pretty simple chance at conversion this one…..5 metres from the left hand upright, funkotron lines it up…..and it’s…over. With just a few minutes gone it’s 6-0.

Update – 4th minute: The Hawks have just kicked downfield after their first set since the first try and it lands into the arms of Boy on the full…he charges forward before being taken down 25 metres out. Quick play the ball and it comes to Funkotron who comes in for a scoot…he gets just passed the 30 before being wrestled to the ground. 2nd tackle now, it comes to James who throws it wide to Hunt who charges forward….pumping those legs towards the 40 before being brought down. It now comes back to James…who throws it to Kobian..Kobain to Orr…Orr charges forward towards his opposing lock in Brett Gemmell….Gemmell meets him….BUT ORR FENDS HIM OFF…..OH SHORT BALL TO PARKER AND PARKER IS THROUGH…WHAT A BALL!! PARKER TO THE HALFWAY…TO THE 40…FULLBACK TO BEAT NOW….WHERE IS THE SUPPORT!?!? HERE IT COMES…JAMES IS THERE…HERE COMES THE FULLBACK IN STACKER….PARKER DRAWS HIM IN AND PASSES IT OFF TO JAMES WHO WILL RUN AWAY FOR ANOTHER TRY! What a brilliant piece of play that was! Can you believe it? Andrew James has come on for the injured Izett and in the space of 3 minutes, he has got a double! What a brilliant ball that was by Orr and the rest was easy! As Funkotron converts the try from right in front, it’s now 12-0, brilliant start by the Test Eagles and the Hawks are absolutely shell shocked!
