GIANT MEMBERS RECRUITED BY GIANTS RFC 17th May 2009. As Seasonal Rugby gets back onto its feet, so do many of the clubs. None more so than the Giants RFC. A club owned by a Seasonal Rugby Orginal, in CCG, and ably supported in his board room by owner Eds, and fellow SR Original Farny, have recruited some big names to add to their squad for the forthcoming season. Earlier today, the Giants were able to announce BJ Gemmell, RG Cribb and SA Flack as major signings, to add to the already well recruited C Kovas, K Fung, AJ Son, AD Funkotron, DG Dafter and another SR Original, S Laing. "We're over the moon to have signed these players to the team," said Team Owner Chris Golding, who thanked Eds for helping him rebuild the team. "He's a real asset, and I have a few other board members who I know will give me a hand when needed." With Cribb filling in at Scrum Half, behind Gemmell at Number 8 and Flack in the Front Row at Hooker, the Giants close in on a full team. "We still have our eyes peeled, but I think we have a very talented team for the upcoming season. We have sorted out the backline, with Cribb and Ames at Halfbacks, myself and Kovas in the Centres, Farny (A Farnikolo) and Mousey (AJ Son) on the Wings and Fung at Fullback, and now look to finish off the scrum. We plan to announce a few more signings as the days go on, so keep your eyes here." "Once we have sorted the on pitch team, we'll look to finalise our Board Room. It's difficult, as we hadn't finalised it before, with a few of us covering specific positions then chipping in with others. I have a good idea how we will shape up, and have contacted a few guys about them, but we haven't decided upon anything yet," said Golding, this afternoon. The Giants look as though they'll be serious contenders this season, and have filled their ranks considerably quicker than many of the other teams; has this been a wise move, well we will wait and see. Until next time.
