which they won't.. Go down to kogarah.. See the name of the leagues club. Go through the sg ball and Harold Mathews comps. You'll see a st.george dragons team.

    Dolt

    You're missing my point altogether.

How is your NRL team different from any other? It's not like you have many, if any, local juniors. The fact that you have the players that you do playing for your club all comes back to the decisions of the board. If Easts didn't have as much cash, they couldn't have got Brian Smith. If Brian Smith doesn't come, the personelle would likely be quite different. If he doesn't come, players might not play to their potential. what you go to simply boils down to going for your CEO being better than the rest.

In State of Origin, the thing of primary importance is the players that my state have produced. Nothing can affect that.

Supporting both your state and your club FTW.

Have heart, not a turncoat etc etc.

There's a point to supporting the regional clubs imo. The Sydney clubs all represent nothing anymore. At least the regional clubs have a lot of players from their area in it.

Yeah, I've just noticed it's all the City fans suggesting they value club loyalty over state lines.

Always worth putting money on Sinclair for a good debut.

I meant more in terms of mental issues/not necking yourself etc etc. Not giving up on them :p. It does my head in sometimes when I watch us play.

Completely agree with everything Ged has posted.

And Julian can think it's because my club merged if he likes but I made the transition to the Tigers seamlessly when it happened in 2000 and followed them extremely passionately until ~ 2006 when I questioned it more tbh.

The only way I could really take supporting an NRL club seriously again was if I followed Parramatta, and be fucked if I'm gonna do that.

All bar like 5 players in our best 17 are local juniors. No other club can say that.

  12. Julian BJ Taylor

    hahahaha

    good one.

    What's so funny?

You disregarding Illawarra 10 posts ago and then claiming to have 12 juniors in your first string side.

Scott, Fien, Weyman, Soward and Boyd are all obviously from outside of St George straight off the bat. That's five. You've disregarded Illawarra to dispute what Ged has said. The other 12 from the Kogarah region are they?

  15. Colesy BL Hornby

How did I discredit illawarra? Apart from Stanley gasnier and nightingale the others are from the illawarra.. Which is fine. We were talking illawarra players before the Steelers came in.

  16. Colesy BL Hornby

Also fairly sure Scott came thru our junior system.

Watching your club have a direct impact on a players progression is totally different to State level where you pick and ditch players at will. I accept both for what they are and support both passionately. What I disagree with is you saying that the only difference between clubs is their CEO's because they have a large effect on the organisation, like the Chairmen of NSWRL & QLD do not?

It's no coincidence that club teams keep largely the same culture for many decades because imo the supporters largely still keep the same values and ethics of the club they have supported for as long as they can remember. You're just as naive as Hughesy imo.

WAC. Baited people into this whole argument, when we should just be blasting him for being Qld scum.

This is only true if you're retarded enough to think Harrison shouldn't be in the side.

Like Ged said, this side is definitely better than the 08 Game 1. Webb at prop. Tate on the wing. Hunt at 6. PJ Marsh on the bench. And other selections like Inglis at centre before he was proven (and still can't tackle). Hodges the same. Slater was woeful starting.

Why is Hughesy threatened with cockblock but this idiot isn't?
