    If a was a newbie I wouldnt want to sign up to the Lions under the impression there a need for openers when infact there isnt.

    Well not really - you currently have two specialist batsmen opening and you don't even pick the guy who averages 40+ in First Class cricket and opened successfully for reggies in Round 1.

    If you compare it to the Stickies who only have two specialist batsmen in their whole ALC squad then you're hardly in desperate need.

    I have no issues with you signing him - it seems a few of you already know him which is good. The issue I take is with you actually thinking you need him.

    I don't see Ames, Dover, McGrath and Borisc coming out of firsts anytime soon so Skip will get ample playing time for the Cubs. Especially considering our other opener is just a filler.
