Jure Kocjan wins stage two of Tour Down Under

Jure Kocjan claimed a first stage win for the newly formed Fosters Pro Cycling Team. Kocjan bested a strong peloton in the final stretch of the 113 kilometre route.

"I'm happy with the team's opening performance,' said General Manager Noble One. "We have only been together for a short period, and we are starting to see results."

An early break of three riders jumped ahead to a five minute lead, and Hoegaarden-Farm Frites, set tempo up front to match the early breakaway.

The talent Slovenian rider stormed to the front in the final sprint, 24'' ahead of the peloton which included Julien Simon, Daniel Oss and Julien El Fares.

"It was a good day for the team and great work by Jure,' said Noble. "We entered the tour with an aim of one stage victory, and we accomplished that objective with the added bonus of a strong team performance."

Nibali aiming for first win of the season

Vincenzo Nibali will take aim at his first victory of the season so far at this week's Tirreno - Adriatico.

"I have pretty good feelings but can't really state what my chances are here," said Nibali. "I picked this race because I know it is the perfect setup for the Giro d'Italia, with great mountains to climb and top-notch opponents."

Nibali will lead a strong team including Peter Sagan and Daniel Martin. As such, the Team will be sweating on victory given a slow start to the season.

Fosters announces its Milan-San Remo team

Australian outfit Fosters Pro Cycling has announced a well-rounded team to contest the Milan-San Remo.

In addition to a race win, the team's focus is on two key outcomes for the Italian race: furthering the development of the team as a whole and working towards the Grand Tours.

The selected eight-rider squad includes a mix of youth and experience which General Manager Noble One hopes will allow the team to achieve its goals.

"It's a good test for them. It's a very, very difficult race but also it's a race where the guys can take opportunities when they arise for themselves".

Daniel Martin moves up to sixth overall on Tirreno-Adriatico

Talented Irish rider Daniel Martin claimed sixth placing on the stage into Prati di Tivo and in the process jumped to sixth in the overall rider standings.

“It was another really good day for Daniel,” said General Manager Noble One “The boys dedicated themselves to Daniel as much as they could, and he took over at the end when the climb got steeper.”

Race leader Edvald Hagen holds a 1'55 lead over his closest challenger Diego Ulissi from Castellon Citrosal with Martin 2'22 behind.

“The ride tomorrow is good for Daniel,” said Noble. “In saying that, I think it would be difficult for him to make up time on the overall. We could also see him drop a position or two down GC. That may happen, but at this point, I think he would need to be on a really bad day to fall out of the top ten.”
