Flack had a pretty terrible season with the ball in both FC comps and I ended up one of the best two opening options again, so it meant our fifth best bowler was going to be a spinner. Given this it made a lot more sense to pick a specialist third seamer. I don't see it so much as picking four seamers as I do picking three seamers and not really using Flack as a bowler.
The solution either way is to pick Mousey ftr. I give you MOUSEY BATS 1. Cribb (5) 2. Speirz 3. Martyn 4. Torres 5. Parker 6. Son (6) 7. Schaw 8. Weaver (1) 9. Welker (4) 10. Eggman (2) 11. Davis (3) or the equally good alternative MOUSEY BOWLS 1. Cribb (5/4) 2. Speirz 3. Martyn 4. Torres 5. Parker 6. Flack (3/6) 7. Son (6/5) 8. Schaw 9. Weaver (1) 10. Eggman (2) 11. Welker (4/3) This message brought to you by the Campaign for the Emerging Recognition of Alistair Son (CAMERAS). #SetLooseTheMoose
Who is the next actual opener in line? I remember Peaches playing at some stage but he was terrible this season.
Yeah the openers last season were me and Peaches but Peaches ended up in ALC this season so he'd definitely be a no-go. AVA is basically considered next in line despite not actually being an opener. Frosty opened in all his club games this season and averaged 40 (also dominated in provincial cricket where he didn't open) so he'd come into calculations too.The next best actual openers would be %S Bakkum and %JJD Heads really.
Haha I hate having to pick myself in this team. Genuinely don't really think I'm up to it. The other opening options are all horrible though; I would have made it even if I didn't bowl really.
The fact that I was going to play regardless did hurt your chances though Hunter, yeah. That and the fact that you average over 100 for South with the ball while Eggman has 34w @ 26.. and the fact that Flack is bowling like arse this season. Lots of things conspired against you.
