CFD Draft Discussion

Essentially this will work as a reserve grade comp for CPL Cricket. It's going to happen this season, probably in the final eleven rounds.

There will be eleven CFD teams - each team having two feeder clubs from the CPL. All players not selected for CPL cricket who are tied to CPL teams will be available for their CFD team, unless they've been specifically rested to avoid injury.

There will be a short draft - probably four players each - between all the CFD club managers, giving them their own players to choose from as well. Obviously, players already picked by CPL teams will not be available in the draft, but the fact that CWPL teams managed to pick a number of players not taken in CPL Cricket depite having 6 fewer teams shows there is still talent about. I could name a team of unselected players that would statistically rank in the top half of the CPL competition.

Knowledge of very obscure players or willingness to research such is required. Ability to work with others (the CPL managers) is also desirable and as such regular online time is preferred.

I'm open to the idea of people running their own combined seconds teams but I'd rather give other people a go first. If you want a full CPL team next season, doing a good job of this is pretty much a sure fire way to get one.

I'm thinking of Cevno, Chewie, Zohaib, Mike, SM, Das and centurymaker specifically here, given they seem to follow the comp pretty closely. Obviously we need more than just them though so stick your name forward.

I'll let people team up as such. So if Gazza and Eds want SM to do their team, it's done. I think it'll help if they know/trust each other a bit.

Yeah and Cevno to manage the team that involves Gemmell given he's doing first grade as well for a month.

 

Undecided tbh. Leaning towards no, or at least turning down the frequency heaps.

 

Yeah, pretty much. The four extra guys (and the lineup each round) might be picked by an independent party though; depends how much interest we get for those roles.
