My only comment is that surely Albie Morkel didn't warrant a round 1 pick in 2010.

Oh for fucks sake, I ctrl-F'd the pick thread and Taylor didn't come up; thought I could steal him next pick.

Definitely building up a more balanced bowling attack now. 14 picks down, 4 to go. Associates/Essex most of the way from here, methinks.

Taylor is apparently quite happy to open if you want him to ftr.

  5. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

Because he's opened so much in ODIs/List A? Seems a bit off to me - wouldn't he take a bit of a hit from doing so? I mean, Hope opens in ODIs too, but I wouldn't want him near the opening slot in a FC game!

  6. Cribbage RG Cribb

Nah Taylor has just opened lots in FC cricket the last few years apparently, it only uses ODIs to determine batting positions for players with almost no FC games. Mainly during his county stint I think.

ITSTL considering we're in round 12

Mathematics is clearly not a strong suit of mine.

Hmmm. Need to think about this then as I'd been lining up openers rather than more generic top order batsmen. What is the measure around players being noob-owned? How many matches do they need to have played to not be?

  10. Cribbage RG Cribb

There's not really a straight forward answer to this because stuff is always recency-weighted. Ricky Ponting would be noobowned because an innings in 2011 counts for such a small fraction of a "standardised innings". The best answer I can give you is 40 standardised innings, but pretty much no-one with exactly 40 innings would not be noobowned as a player would need to have played them all this week for the 40 actual innings to equal 40 standardised innings.

  11. Chewie JA Chewie

I kind reckon there should be two sorts of n00b0wning - recency of actual games, and not enough balls bowled / balls faced as it seems silly to me that someone who has played 40 innings in 2019 would still be n00b0wned

  12. Cribbage RG Cribb

It'd be so slight as to make it almost irrelvant at that point tbf. "Oh no noobowned" and "shit player" are not really the same thing. There's a bowler in the top 20 and a batsman in the top 40 who are both noobowned.

The closer you are to 40 standardised innings the less it noobowns you; it's not a binary system.

Willing to accept a fair trade for Porter if you’re desperate for him in your side.

  14. HeathDavisSpeed HT Davis

Not exactly desperate, but what did you have in mind?

What’s your beef against 5th bowlers?

I refer you to my previous reply to Ch0013. All facts are enclosed therein.

  18. MrPrez CM Dyer

If you need a fifth bowler I will be a top lad and consider trading you Shakib for Steve(n) Smith.

  19. Captain SSD Dong

Shakib would be his best bowler

  20. Number 11 CJ Downes

Hmmm. Nauman? I’d say Bess but he’s not much use to me when I have based Harmer. Might look again at the end of the draft.
