If he's dropped then he'll be eligible. I think it's fair, if you're first choice ALC at the time you qualify. Otherwise using your logic guys like Masters etc. are eligible.
Masters has played more ALC therefore is eligible BY YOUR LOGIC when it's obvious he shouldn't be, hence why mine > yours
