This is tough, but pick the best 17 that you can from when you started watching Rugby League knowing what was going on.

First season where it probably became clear I was a huge fan of the game was '99. I made a scrapbook of all the best souths stories and photos with each rounds match report story out of the old man's sunday papers. Went and saw two games early that year too including a thrilling come back victory over the bulldogs in one of the first games 'Wingy' showed his match winning potential - out of fullback iirc.

So yeah I cut it off to players whose careers were still going in 99.

Beetson, lindner, Lewis, sterling and grothe. Not exactly young blokes now?

  14. Sizzler WD Robinson

Fourex is either is his 40's or he is a dense cunt, I expect the latter.

  15. Maroon_Faithful M Faithful

    They're not mutually exclusive.

  16. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

It's my vintage, not yours. I'll pick who the fuck I want.

If Parker is coming into the team, he would replace Gallen. Actually, I would do that, TBH.

  17. Mr Fourex MR Fourex

Uhmmm......yeah. Unlike what appears to be most of you "teenagers" I've been a RL fan for more than 10 yrs.

:) .......you're epically arse hurt over something I've said to you in the past

Love to know what other user name you have so I'd know just what the fuck it was I slapped you around about.

  18. Boobidy BJ Gemmell

I don't think you're capable of making anyone arse hurt. Maybe the spelling nazi, he is definitely not your biggest fan.

  19. Cribbage RG Cribb

I'd put Smith in the top three players I've ever seen but as Jazz and MF were saying in the other thread recently, I don't think he'd suit Johns that well. Especially if Lockyer was also at fullback. The ideal dummy half would be someone with great service off the ground, a sharp running game and excellent defence, and Buderus fits the bill there better than Smith IMO.

  20. Jazz NC Smith

Beetson is the one that really gives it away tbh. Lindner was still playing in the 90s.
