    The comics are entirely different and now retconning themselves to be like the show which is far more popular than they ever were. Seriously there was no island, no diggle, no felicity. But now they've all been added.

    If he does have some extended absence and then comes back there's no way people won't start twigging that the gaps where Oliver Queen and the Arrow go awol happen to be at exactly the same time

    Yeah, when looking up what a Lazarus Pit was, I came across information that suggested that someone actually takes over from Barry as The Flash at one point in the comics.. which made me think that the show is called Arrow, not Oliver Queen, and they may be able to leave him dead with someone else taking over the hood.. at least for a little while.

    Atom takes over. Roy tries for a bit but Felicity ends up bringing the atom into it whom she continues a romance with. Meanwhile asian dude finds oliver and chucks him in super tech 'pit' to recover. Atom and malcolm clash, and subsequently so do thea and roy. After some fighting roy turns soft and thea catches him one episode and brings him in front of malcolm.. until she finds out what her father is truly like.

    Oliver returns and has no place, wants felicity back. Atom has bigger ideas, felicity feels betrayed he wont stop to save roy, oliver saves roy. Atom feels homesick and goes home.

    I think Black Canary will be the larger focus in the next Arrow episodes, with Atom being established.

    Atom wouldn't be Arrow though; Atom would be Atom. I think there Starling City will still think the Arrow is around in some form.

    I think the whole point of Laurel telling Thea about Sara and her reaction was to make us buy the mind control story when it came up. Could just be to sell the bluff better, but I doubt it.

    Hate this if so. I know Laurel was the Canary in the comics but in this universe she's stick thin and barely done any training.

    Yeah this. Like Palmer a lot, so more of him would be good.

    Maybe Roy will be 'arrow' but still be sidekick to Atom when felicity brings him down to meet the group.
