Alex McKinnon apparently looking at taking legal action against the league and the storm after that life changing tackle. Very interesting TSTL. I was shocked when I heard it. http://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2015-...-case-if-he-seeks-compensation-lawyer/6470266
The NRL has given him a job for life and raised over a million dollars for him. And I don't really know what exactly you sue the Storm for, the tackle really wasn't that bad it was just extremely unfortunate. I'm not sure how you can blame anyone at the Storm...
Thats what I don't understand. They league appears to have done so much for this bloke, they continue to do so, yet he is going to take legal action against them? Yes I understand all the trouble he has gone through but its not like the league has just let him fade away and go without any help. To me, if you play any type of contact sport you have to be willing to cop an injury. I copped a massive neck injury playing local footy at the age of 16 and my neck has never been the same. I didn't receive payments for games, physio treatment, medication or anything. Yes, I didn't lose the ability to walk but I walked out onto that ground knowing full well I could one day not walk off the ground. Its definitely going to divide a lot of people on their opinions.
Report doesn't really say he's looking to sue, just this rando lawyer talking about it. He'd win fuck all as well lol because 1) The NRL has already compensated him so much and 2) Evidence would show a high degree of contributory negligence in his injury.
It says in the article he's reluctant to follow legal action. How does that translate to 'set to sue'?
I haven't read the article, but if he does take legal action he doesn't deserve shit. Jordan Mclean should sue him for tucking in his head and causing him depression over the incident. Guaranteed winner right there.
Yep. The tackle will be examined a hell of a lot more closely if he decided to go through with it and I'd wager Alex would get fuck all.
Yeah when I first heard about this I thought it was a dog act but as it turns out it's just media sensationalism.
