I know I continually under estimate Penrith, but geez it feels like the they're primed to have their pants pulled down by Brisbane today.

I do think they should start favourites for next years title though

Penrith will spank them I'm thinking

    You're welcome, NRL.

    YESSSSSS!!!!!!! GO YOU FUCKING BRONCOS.

It was so obvious Penrith had shut up shop with 25 to go.

All the media overhyped them. They were garbage in the second half.

2 finals games in a row they get outplayed but pull a comeback out of their ass, no way they're doing it again against Melbourne.

That was the dumbest approach by the broncos. Properly ran at riffs left once and went through for the last try. Think it was ego driving them at cleary and martin with Mam

Riff no week off stung em. Real lack of polish from them in the attacking 20 in the second half, trying to get cute with Talagi instead of just spreading it to alamoti

Yep I was screaming at them to go at Talagi. The minute they do, there were half breaks and a try.

I was ready to dunk Walsh's head in that fucking toilet when he missed that conversion.

Disagree. Broncos were all over Canberra in all metrics except the scoreboard, controlled most of the second half in this match, and knocked over Storm a few weeks ago.

It bodes well that Walsh could play that poorly and Brisbane still won. Only did well late when he started thinkin run first, pass later.

Atkins was gutless. How on earth does Liam Martin not go to the bin for third man in?

Absolute freak of chance they got away with beating Canberra. Penrith had won the game and stupidly banked on defending it out in hot weather. Storm were neutered without Grant or Hughes, they lost to the Roosters as well, they're a totally different team with either of them in, all of their attacking structure flows from them. Unfortunately I think this will be one of the most lopsided GFs we'll see, they're a class above Brisbane. Penrith would've made a game of it but Broncos won't.

I was very skeptical of Brisbane heading into this finals series for the reasons Toolman mentioned. But you just get the feeling their belief and will is at an all time high. I do think Melbourne are the better team but it's an enormous effort to beat Penrith without Paddy and Reynolds/Mam one game back. They'll be better for that run.

Brisbane can play much better in attack, and I'll think they'll need to. Melbourne have shown some cracks too so I think it'll be relatively close.

Carrigan getting 3 weeks off is going to be huge for him as he has looked tired, and Willison getting a run before the GF another big win.

Much more confident in beating Storm than Penrith.

Willison may get rubbed out for the cannonball shot tho. Not being binned might just get him off.

Staggs was enormous. Aside from that late penalty, he was so strong running the ball when Brisbane were struggling to get forward.

Gotta rap Payne Haas again. Dude is an absolute machine. Best prop in the world imo. Tapine and Fonua-blake are phenomenal but they're not pumping out 80 minutes in a game with that level of fatigue. Haas covering up the late grubber, and also chasing down Cleary's fg setup after 20 hitups and 46 tackles (0 misses), no one else in the world is doing that.

The weirdest thing is the fact some people think it's debatable. Haas is the best prop in the world, and it's not even close.

Not sure how those 2 finals games change your mind, they've been just as inconsistent in them as they have been all year. They can never put a full game together. It won't be good enough to beat Melbourne. I had doubts over Melbourne last year due to those same defensive cracks but on the GF they proved me wrong and showed they know how to defend properly in a top quality game. And their attack is better than Brisbane's too, Brisbane's unorthodox attack is better than anyones but that requires the bounce of the ball to go your way, Melbourne's attack is structured and flows when it's on, they won't need to rely on luck.

Yeh my gut feel is Melbourne are the only real contenders this year and everything else that's gone on has been incidental.

There has been some cracking games this finals series though so I would like to be proven wrong as it will go down as an all time finales series.

In same breath, fuck seeing Mam win anything this year.
