    Referees were shit as usual...

Pfft, this coming from a Roosters fan, no less. fmd.

Not sure what match you were watching MF. Broncos ruck defence was horrendous and some of their first up contact was laughable.

You don't miss 41 tackles and concede 17 offloads with great defence.

Their edge defence was much improved on last week and their scramble was admirable. But the Storm would rack up a cricket score if their ruck defence is that loose again next week.

Panthers spine was fucking woeful, if just one of them had a good game and could've given them some direction the Panthers probably would have won.

They really need to sign someone with some experience to support Cleary if Moylan leaves. Just too much to ask a rookie half to lead a dide in the NRL.

Blake Green as a swap would be a great signing IMO.

James Tamou definitely the biggest flop signing of the year.

Yeah I agree with that. They were loose in the mid-field. But they defended their line admirably. Penrith had a lot of field position inside their 30 and only got over the line once. Goal line D was good.

melb roos gf should be entertaining if the refs refuse to blow ruck penalties

Pretty good effort to win with injuries before and during the game, Panthers having so much ball and the refs letting them spend twice as much time in tackles. The commentators were fucking disgusting when Oates got injured. Firstly, the ball went forward into Milford - accidental offside and scrum. Secondly, he looked in serious shit, any other team and they wouldn't have said a word.

I completely disagree really; I think he's way too similar to Cleary.

I think Cleary is fine as a game manager as long as he has someone genuinely creative with him. When he feels like he has to do both, his game falls apart a bit. Green would just be more organisation.

I think this bore out to be pretty much true. They won up the guts and their edge players were probably about on par with Brisbane's, but they've just got nothing in the opposition 20 when May's playing. I like May (could be a good squad utility, or a bench back rower), but a first grade half he is not.

Hook missed some very obvious opportunities that would've won Penrith that game/improved their attack immensely:

-All they had to do was go out the back of Harawira down that right side and they had Moga on toast. They'd set him up perfectly by continually going short in the first 30~, I thought it must've been a long term plan to keep bringing Moga up and in and eventually expose it. I think they once tried to go out the back near the end of the first half and the pass went behind Edwards and stunted the raid, then never bothered again. Every time there was a 3 on 2 or 2 on 1. Impossibly bad coaching not to have used it, especially when you've got class like Dean fucking Whare out there, his would've put DWZ over for a couple I fancy.

-Should have thrown Peachey in at lock, Cartwright second and row and Yeo centre at the back end of each half. Broncos ruck was cut to pieces at times and Peachey would've been primed to dart around and cause further headaches, or even just provide some unpredictability on those pathetic attempts in the red zone.

-Switch Yeo and Peachey in attack, Peachey was the complete wrong style of centre to take advantage of Roberts poor defence in my opinion, there was a number of times Roberts turned his body in and was a step in front of the defensive line. I'm convinced Yeo running lines off Peachey/Cartwright/Wallace (had he have moved out there once May went down)

I don't mind May as a player, but he strikes me as a bit of a John Sutton with fractionally worse ball playing. Early days yet but he looks much more likely to make it as a good link man back rower rather than half.

And fuck me James Tamou is a spud. Such a predictably poor signing for the money he's on.
