Matt Scott busted a cheekbone ......explains why he went missing early.

Mal will hopefully forget about Taylor for another few seasons too.

Haha my old man loves a punt, but rarely does. He's one to always back odds. He's got a trifecta formula on the ponies for $3 bets etc. When I told him about those $9 odds he couldn't believe it. Rode that home with me. And when Hodkinson scored he was just as ecstatic as me haha

Any other QLD/Aus supporters with two losses after last night's sport? Need to sympathise with anyone else who stayed up for the Socceroos game. :(

Right 'ere dude. Gotta look at the positives. In both cases we were leading and in a position to win. Can't fault the effort. They did a credit to themselves.

I admire your outlook MF, and I was still very proud of the Socceroos, but it definitely hurt that every bit more having to watch Origin with a few Blues supporters and the World Cup with my Dutch friend.

Will just have to put it into perspective I guess. What's winning without losing anyway? Need to keep the passion somehow.

No Cronk was definitely the difference in the end. The lack of creative quality from both sides in both matches was really highlighted without the best halves for each state playing.

Well, for QLD our run had to end sometime. But we'll certainly be back and fired up next year. We don't take losing well and this will only stand to motivate our players to get back on top. QLD's never as dangerous as when we're coming off a loss like this. It destroys any complacency in one fell swoop and we all know that at our best, we're the better side. Now's the time to laud the unassailable greatest run in Origin history. Like St. George's run of 11 premierships, it will probably never be matched. NSW have won 1 in the last 9 series. Don't forget that. Our pain today is nothing compared to what those Blue bastards have had to endure.

The Socceroos obviously won't be back next year but hey, we did a heck of a lot better than it was predicted. Shit they were saying this lowest ranked side wouldn't even get on the score sheet and we've racked up 3 goals in 2 matches against quality opposition, one of which was the goal of the fucking tournament so far. We were dealt a terrible hand being in the same group as the two finalists from last time's world cup final and of course Chile, and we gave more of a showing than the Spaniards. That's not nothing. We have plenty to be proud of.

Yeah, we desperately missed Cronk. DCE might be a little better player, but he's had 0 hours of training with the QLD side in the halves.

The best thing about Cronk (apart from the obvious Storm connections) is that he consistently does the little things right and stays composed the whole match. He's a good foil to JT, who can lose his cool and overplay his hand at times.

EWS, if you can put down the celebratory beers for one moment (though he's probably paralytic by now:p) what did you think of Lillyman? He wasn't brilliant but he was far from fucking terrible. Pretty solid I thought.

Lillyman actually played his role extremely well. He made good ground while he was on, added real impact with his runs and didn't give us his customary reserve grade standard knock-on or two simple missed tackles. He was probably Queensland's third best forward behind Myles and Gillett; he was certainly the best of your bench players.

He'll always be a shunt though, regardless of how well he actually plays. It's just one of those things. :p A great advertisement for picking actual props on the bench however; imagine if Queensland had picked one the 25-30 props at their disposal who are better than him! ;)
