Thats a tricky run and to be fair the Sarries game at the rec is the most significant. Losing away to Tigers and Saints is not a shock but they couldnt cope with Sarries blitz defence last time at the rec. A big test for Ford, cope with that and he may jump back into England contention.

I reckon Lancaster's plan for the AI is

Form 10, be it Ciprani, Ford or Burns
    12 - Farrell
    13 - Manu

Indeed. But if they beat Saints away then it blows the table wide open.

Away to Saints on a Sat then home to Sarries on a Fri. Bet they send a weaker team to Saints!

If Farrell doesn't get his club spot back I expect he'll be dumped altogether. Don't see it being Cips though given he was overlooked for Burns back in June when in the form of his life and Burns seemed unable to add two and two without falling over.

The Farrell to 12 thing is a bit of a fanspeak myth afaic. They want Twelvetrees or possibly Eastmond to be the answer at 12.

Chances are we rock up with Farrell or Ford at 10 and Twelvetrees at 12 if fit.

I really want Eastmond to be given another chance. He has far more flair than anyone else in that role

I do think that the 3rd test vs New Zealand is going to be held against Eastmond even if it seemed to be a defensive system failure rather than him missing tackles

Nerve-wracking business for exe fans tonight. Gloucester still just a little bit undercooked.

We're getting taken to the cleaners here.

  9. Howe JHF Howe

Yep. Come back with more players next week

  10. Howe JHF Howe

It would help if Wayne Barnes knew the rules.

  11. Howe JHF Howe

We've been taken to the cleaners, thoroughly washed, ended up shrunk and thrown in the skip

Possibly the worst defeat I've seen and there's still 25 minutes to go

I was about to say this is like watching England against NZ, but on second thoughts it's more like England against Zambia or something

Wot is this rubbish, with a scoreline like that you'd think we were playing the world xi or something

Not looking forward to the highlights later

Not sure what was more surprising, how good Bath were or how shit Leicester were!!

  15. Madness B Morganpola

Watched game again, Bath were outstanding.

Everyone played well but there were some brilliant performances from Attwood, Ford and Eastwood

I assume it warms the cockles of all you red-blooded Saxons in here to have such an awful team masquerading as 'Welsh'?

    10-46 loss today, yikes.

They're neither Welsh nor in London so it's hard to feel much about them, beyond pity

The Tigers team today has 3 academy players in it. This, I think, is the full injury list:

Munipola, Youngs, Cole, Slater, Parling, Deacon, Thorn, Croft, Bai, Allen, Tuilagi, Hepetema, Thompson, Camacho, Morris

That's at least 6 of the best forwards (plus Ayerza and Matera currently playing for Argentina) and all the centres at the club

I think I'm correct in saying that, back in the amateur days, London Welsh (and London Sottish and London Irish) would only field players who were qualified for the respective Celtic nations that form the second half of their clubs' names.

Nowadays it's more of a nominal "historical link" thing. In fact, again if memory serves, the original London Scottish folded and were merged with London Irish and Richmond, under the "London Irish" name and both the Scottish Exiles and Richmond had to re-enter at the bottom of the league pyramid.

It's their fans I feel sorry for. Nobody has a good word to say about the team or the LW setup. The 2000 or so fans who still slog all the way to Oxford to watch probably deserve better.

It's a shame for the AP that well-supported sides like Worcester and Bristol aren't there but LW won the Championship fair and square.

    Tuilagi's our for how long?

I know for certain that London Scottish currently play in the Championship. I don't know if that fits with your version
