I missed it on commentary so can someone explain why Saints only needed to draw?

Two tries to one at the time, so a drop rather than Waller's pile over would've done it.

Not sure the Jimmys were aware of this at the time tho.

Caught the highlights on ITV4; Saints definitely played most of the rugby. & how funny was Owenaro's disallowed try? If he hadn't been such a girl with his cramp it'd have stood.

He was carrying a calf injury going into the game, and being a dick, aggravated it by punting the ball into the crowd. Wasn't just cramp.

But thanks for the explanation... I assumed it would have gone to drop goal off

    Brad Thorn signs for Leicester

    From the BBC,

Quality pick up for Howe's Tiges, even if the great man is nudging 40.

Proper, old school, hard as coffin nails enforcer who's a good line out operator and has quick hands for a big lad.

  6. Mariner CL Warrington

    Ooh, not bad.

  7. Howe JHF Howe

Blimey. One of the best ever but I didn't think he'd be back playing at all. Was he playing Super Rugby this season?

  8. The Boy Brumby ZJ Brumby

Yeah, was at Otago (and in my dream team for at least part of the season).

  9. Madness B Morganpola

Approaching 40!! Wonder if he's more there for the attitude and ethos or maybe he's being lined up for coaching work?

Bath to play Burgess, S at centre

    From the Beeb.

Common sense prevails; big fella would be wasted in the back row.

Be interesting to see how quickly he's fast tracked into the England squad. No doubt in my mind he'll debut before the WC.

Boo for resorting to convention before you've tried.

Will lead to him being a pretty one dimensional player IMO.

Think you're under estimating his ball playing.

Our Australian leagueists may disagree, but he has pretty decent offloading for such a unit.

Plus, being such a unit, he'll punch holes for Manu to exploit.

Genuinely think he's our best league steal since Billy.

If SBW is a decent yardstick, then it'll take him a year to get used to the differences in the game so that he doesn't resemble the tackling equivalent of the magic roundabout. Another year on from that, and you might have an international class centre to play with. I suspect if you fast track him into the world cup, he'll be a liability.

Oldest trick in the book, son. We're not falling for that.
