As the president, he's seen to be high up in the Hurricanes hierarchy. People will think he's unfairly giving them an advantage. As a player, he's seen to be the guy who runs the sim + just another player. People won't see him as having any part in the tactical side of the sim so it is not as much of an issue.
AWTA. When we had a cricket sim at The Final Whistle it was run by Stoke (Skippos here) and the first season he was a manager of one of the clubs - he admitted afterwards that since he knew the sim so well he was able to ensure his team used the best spread of tactics in order to win - so the next season he was just another player and there was no issue. Like I said - as long as Eds isn't seen to be giving a tactical advantage to his team then there shouldn't be an issue.
Eds hadn't made any errors in simming before season 2. If he makes any errors in season 3 to the benefit of the Canes, the shit will hit the fan. That's why he shouldn't be a team owner - to save himself the inevitable shit. Half the battle in obtaining integrity, isn't the integrity itself - its the perception of integrity.
Serious? We have 3 main sims (used to have SoccerSim as well), and there has only been a handful of accusations of cheating, all of which stem from frustration/annoyance and have no proof at all. Eds has had a team since Season 1 IIRC, or has at least been an important part of a team, and there has been no whinging, what's changed?

So all you guys believe Eds having a team and Eds having a direct say into the coding of the sim and the running of the competition is not a conflict of interest? That's laughable.
The fact that he's been throwing his weight around of late for one. Let's be clear - I don't think he WOULD do it (from what I've seen he's respectable enough not to) but that others here would loudly claim he does - if for no other reason than to cause trouble and hear themselves speak (or type...or whatever ) Come on - this season alone there were accusations of foul play in the Giants v Vikings game dying at 3/4 time...
We had a great competition the way it was going. The Cheetahs were bottom, yes, but someone has to be.
Scrapping the comp mid-way was arguably the worst part IMO - considering the poll had "finish this season then start fresh with the new one" (misquote) was the top choice...
We were bottem yes but it wasnt like we were competitive we managed to get one win against the Giants we they fielded a 2nd team. When we play our best team against the oppositions best team we were always gunna lose. And competitive means at the start of the season any of the team can win the title and think it would be a mirical if the cheetahs did.
Just because one side didn't have any realisitc chance of winning doesn't mean we have to restart. The Saders batting lineup for S9 isn't going to win them the BS yet we aren't starting the whole thing again. I have no doubt Marcuss has had a word in Eds' ear and has helped bring this about.
