I think we can all agree, that as long as the Tigers keep making horrible decisions we are all happy.

I wouldn't mind seeing them turning it around. Don't really want it to be under Sheens though

Apparently Tapau --> Broncos. Pretty solid signing imo as long as they didn't have to fork too much out.

Surely that means Palasia leaves early to the Titties. Haas, Carrigan, Flegler, Tapau and Jensen is a pretty good middle.

what happened to Tapau? he used to be heaps good

I think there's something to be said for having a body builders physique in the NRL. Carrying that amount of muscle as a 110kg+ forward can't be good for his cardio.. especially as he's well into his 30s now (turns 34 this year).

oh yeah right, i forget how old all the players i know are becoming. well if you throw him in for short spurts he can still turn a game with his offloads

RTS is that player for me, turns 30 this year. Swear he was an 18yo debuatant not long ago.

Saw an article suggesting he would be finishing off the back end of his career back in the NRL. And I thought they were just misinformed.

Dude weighs about the same as Gallen did and is taller. Some just have poor endurance. Junior Paulo manages at 120+. Same as Payne Haas.

Well damn, Dolphins have signed Farnworth and Flegler from next year in the past 24hrs.

Both 23 with 50+ games under their belt, exactly the type of players they should be signing. 800k for Flegler is overs though, regardless of new CBA.

Yeah, I'd say that $800K has a lot to do with the amount of cash they have spare at this time, and would assume there are some pretty heavy conditions like minimum games played and playing well enough for international caps etc. for the back 2 years when they will have opportunities to sign other players coming off contract around that time.

As for the Broncos, they should be pretty pleased they held onto Jensen. He's a real solid hand. We aren't seeing a ceiling as high as Flegler's from him, but he's far more consistent week to week and doesn't spend 10 matches a season out via suspension. Plus he'd probably be on around half of what Dolphins are paying for Flegler.

Broncos should be using the money to get Fifita back now his value should be more realistic, and the edge stock at the club being putrid.

Rumour around the ground today was that Nathan Brown has been signed on a short term deal until the end of the season and Tapuha will be released to the Sharks. Looks like I’ll get my wish although Lodge has been better than I anticipated.

Am I right that Souffs have signed wighton on big bucks, for 4 years, meaning he'll be 31 when he first players for them, but thought Reynolds was too old to offer more than a year extension when he was 31?

It's an odd signing on a number of fronts and I don't think they're that much better off as a side because of it.

Bigger issues to solve at prop and on the wing, think for Wightons money they could've bought two good players and strengthened both positions.

I think this has worked out well for Canberra. Them offering Wighton 1.1 over 4 at his current age and ability, was absolute madness. And Souffs paying a centre 900k is just as stupid, especially when their attack is already dangerous enough on that left. Wighton is gonna be an expensive decoy to be cut out for AJ to score.

I get why the Raiders wanted to keep him but you're right it's probably a bit of a blessing in disguise. Paying him 1.1m at the back end of that contract would've been a real overpay.

I hope they move Ricky Stuart on and investment in some exciting talent with that coin because there's a good forward pack there.

    Jayden Campbell needs a home..

it's because Wighton identifies as an abo, even tho he's clearly not, and souths is an abo team

In my experience identifying as an abo gets you more pay, not less.
